Come for the tub!

Posted 5-Feb-2016
I wasn't in my room long, but I made very grateful use of the bathtub - one of the best I've experienced in a hotel for sure! Unfortunately I stayed during the off season. the cafe was closed and there was no where within walking distance to get so much as a muffin and a cup of tea, so I ended up having to leave for the airport hungry.

Great location

Posted 22-Jan-2016
Hotel is very nice and amenities are new and well kept. The only complaint is the layout makes it very hard to maneuver a luggage cart to your room because you have to go inside then outside then inside again and no help was offered.

Nice new hotel on the lake

Posted 27-Dec-2015
Pros: We liked the location and the condition of the hotel.
Cons: Not much for us.
Location: See above.
We had a very pleasant stay in a well maintained resort/spa. It is right on Okanagan Lake with a small wildlife reserve in front of the hotel. An attractive path runs from the hotel, through the yacht club and past the racquets club and then into a local beachfront park.We saw osprey, magpies, quail, geese and ducks. Staff at the hotel were very responsive to our enquiries.

There was a major problem in the bathroom. The toilet lid was leaning on my back every time I used the toilet as they had a countertop on the top of the flush tank which wouldn't allow the lid to stand up properly; very disgusting.

Lakefront comfort.

Posted 26-Oct-2015
Pros: Spacious well appointed room with full kitchen, large bath and comfortable bed. Nice to have a lake front view and access to waterfront walking path.
Location: Close to Peachland (Bliss Bakery),Bottleneck Drive wine tour, Giants Head Mtn (spectacular view),15 min to Penticton, spectacular views in Naramata.
Relaxing time in off season, convenient access to Summerland town centre yet well removed from traffic and very quiet and beautiful setting.

Not what I expected

Posted 19-Oct-2015
Pros: For the most part it was very comfortable to stay in. The bed was clean and comfortable as were the bathroom facilities clean and well appointed.
Cons: Friendly and accommodating customer service could be improved considerably. Also daily housekeeping for short term guests is important.
Location: The location of the Summerland Resort and Spa is very isolated with no grocery store nearby. The restaurant located beside the Resort is expensive.
I was at the Summerland Resort & Spa for the weekend. Had booked well ahead through Expedia and was given the impression that I would be given a waterfront view room. Upon arrival this was not the case and they had reserved a room with a back street view for me. They claimed this was the type of room you get when you book Expedia! They did upgrade this to a partial view and this was okay. The purpose of my trip was a wine tour. There again I was given the impression that it would not be a problem but Upon arrival was told that they needed notice and the tour I wanted was booked so had to do my own private tour. I have to say the staff was not helpful in this regard and did not go out of their way in any way to accommodate me. The suite itself was a bit on the damp and musty side and did find a silverfish in my bathtub on the first morning there but other than that the unit was clean and okay. Linens in bedroom and bathroom very clean and fresh as was the kitchen area nicely appointed. What upset me here was that there was NO HOUSEKEEPING service for my entire stay. The response from the staff was that it was now the winter season and this service was not provided. This was in spite of signs in all the rooms advising that the housekeeping service would be provided each day.

Nice Hotel

Posted 19-Oct-2015
Pros: Nice view, new updated clean room
Cons: Room service would be nice
Location: Beach is tiny - but fine if you want to go for a walk
Room was new and clean, very comfortable, would definitely stay again. We checked in around 8pm, and there was no one at check in - had to wait a few minutes for service. Other than that, stay was nice - they were hosting a wedding there was but able to put us further away from the noise.
