Unlike traditional ryokan, this is utterly modern and beautifully set in a wooded glen. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. Someone is always there the moment you need anything. The breakfasts and dinners magnificent! Not only delicious but also plated with the eye in mind on pottery unique to the area. The property was so nice. The room was really big, clean, and comfortable. Very private. The service was excellent! The staff were all so nice. We are from Hawai’i and have been to many different onsens in Yufuin, Kinosaki, Gero, Arima, Kusatsu, Ikaho, Hakone, Nikko, and Beppu, but Sanso Warabino is the best! Service is second to none! Will return again and will recommend to our family and friends.
