The pools, both private and shared, are wonderful and have a great view over rice paddies. The service and food were a bit of a let-down. Perhaps it was because as an English-speaker, I was assigned a Burmese worker and a teenage Japanese kid as my hosts, but while their English was very good, their service lacked the refinement, pro-active hospitality and attention to detail that are often the hallmark of a great Ryokan. I did not feel particularly welcome at this property and often felt like staff were just going through the motions to be done with me.
