The room was spacious with a great view and comfortable bed and pillows. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I recommend getting the “half board” meal plan so you can enjoy breakfast and dinner at hotel, especially as it’s far from town and the food is quite good. It stands on a hill but a bit far from the public transportation. Thanks to the offering of shuttle services to and fro the jr station. However it's only limited to a few seats and a few times a day and also need advance booking. This is the only drawback. Because of the difficulty of transportation, we are also restricted to dine in the hotel restaurant. Other than that we love the atmosphere of the hotel and the private in room onsen bath. Lots of space and modern. Many wooden furniture though and found a small bug in one of the towels. Very nice view of beppu city, even though drive up to the hill was a bit difficult for bigger cars. All staff were welcoming and they helped to settle luggages inside the room. There were also welcome drinks after checked in. Design of the hotel is a masterpiece.
