Welcome to the “Friendiest Town in Maine”. "Pretty Close" is a year round nautical themed cottage in walking distance to the ocean located in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood. You can enjoy a day at the beach and come home to enjoy your family/friends by playing games or reading a book in the large nicely furnished screened in porch. Wells and surrounding areas also have great restaurants and unique shops to explore. We stayed at "Pretty Close" for a family get together with four adults and a 2 year old. The house was very clean and very well stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The neighborhood is extremely quiet, which was perfect having the windows open at night to get the breeze. From the moment we entered, we knew that we were going to have an enjoyable stay. As my wife says, “It’s the little things that make the biggest difference.” Dianna and Erica had left us a lovely welcome message and even snacks which our kids very much appreciated. Aside from the little things, Pretty Close was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you can imagine, including kitchenware, bedding and extra blankets should we have needed them. As it turned out, it was very hot on the coast of Maine, and thankfully the air conditioning at Pretty Close worked incredibly well, which is an important consideration of mine, especially when returning from a hot day at the beach. There was more than ample space for myself, my wife and two children to sleep, relax, and just have a great summer vacation. Our favorite room was the enclosed “sunroom” out back where we ate our breakfast and just relaxed at the end of the day. We were also within a short driving distance to beaches in Wells, Ogunquit and further afield (although we were happy with the Wells and Ogunquit beaches). Dianna and Erica communicated very well and responded promptly when I reached out to them. They were everything I would want in VRBO hosts and Pretty Close is everything I would want in an accommodation. The house was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well stocked with cookware, spices, storage containers, ice packs, shampoo, anything you would really need. The 3-season porch was a wonderful bonus, providing additional seating and a fun place to place to play games in the evening. We also really appreciated the drying rack! I know that may seem silly, but it was perfect for drying bathing suits, so they were not strewn all about the bathroom. The dryer works great (we have visited other locations with subpar dryers which makes doing laundry difficult) and we loved having Alexa ready to play all our favorites. We loved the location and the home, the weather was a bit chilly so we spent a lot of time at the house and made it like home and didn’t want to leave. Had all the essentials and space to cook,grill, hang out, enjoyed a fire pit in back and all you need for a day at the beach! My family and I stayed three nights and four days and enjoyed every minute of it and wished we had booked a longer stay. The home was extremely clean very well-stocked and in the perfect location to explore the local and surrounding areas. My family and I really enjoy cooking and so we cooked every night and found the kitchen was outfitted and we didn’t need for anything. They had a shed in the back that was fully stocked with beach chairs and toys, they even have cornhole boards that we definitely used throughout the weekend. We also brought our bikes and there was enough room in the shed to store them to make sure they were Secure and out of the elements. The property itself was in a very quiet safe neighborhood. Wells is a cute little town but there is also surrounding towns that have a lot to offer as well. There was three beaches in Biking distance less than a mile from the property as well. Communication with the owners D&E Was by far some of the best communication I have received from a Vrbo Host. They responded quickly do any questions that I had and we’re so accommodating. I was going to book a week this coming summer but they are fully booked and I’m hoping some unlucky family cancels so we can stay in this beautiful home again. Don’t hesitate to make reservations dislocation books quickly and it’s definitely worth a visit!! Thank you D&E for being so amazing and making our home away from home experience one for the books!
