Well maintained and vey clean property. Loved the crisp white sheets. Walkable to Zocalo and San Domingo. Pool was on the small size and a bit warm for my liking but very pretty setting. Breakfast staff were lovely but not a lot of variety in food. Also we did not find much in the immediate area for restaurants. Suggest having some snack and drinks available on site. Our check in was a little rough as we didn’t know how to access the property and it took a while till another guest came and let us in. We were standing the street in the dark for about 15 mins knocking on windows and doors to get attention.

Casa del la Tía Tere is a gorgeous spot very close to but not in the middle of the main tourist hub of the Oaxaca. The grounds and architecture of the building are beautiful and well-appointed. The rooms are spotless. A delicious and well balanced breakfast is served on a lovely terrace amidst greenery and hummingbirds.

Charming hotel , nice bungalows! Would recommend if you are looking for a safe quiet stay in Oaxcaca. A bit of a walk to the main square . But not a problem .

Wow this place is seriously swank. Our adjoining rooms were enormous!! Everything was nice about this hotel, the heated pool, the staff, the location.

Very nice property with pool to relax during the day after a tour. It is close to old town, providing easy access. Would stay here in a heart beat. .

Oaxaca is a lovely small city. It was difficult for us as we do not speak Spanish. Most people in Oaxaca do not speak any English. The hotel has English speakers and is close to the zocalo, the center plaza with restaurants and other activities. The breakfast was adequate each day. There were cooking facilities in our room but we did not use them. There was free coffee and tea throughout the day in a little dining area. The pool was clean and refreshing. We ate out every evening as the town center was half a mile away. We took English speaking tours which are available by Innova tours. Great week in Oaxaca

Beautiful week long stay in Oaxaca
We had a wonderful stay at the hotel Tia Tere. The building is a colonial home that was turned into a hotel. You can still see the architecture of the patios and the way homes were built in the past. Our room was very comfortable for our week stay. It was clean, very roomy (two double beds) and it even included a mini fridge. There’s an adapted elevator to carry luggage to the upper floors but other than that stairs are the way to go. The location is a few blocks from downtown which is perfect to see the many streets and places leading there. We also found convenient places to eat within a block or two of the hotel. La Merced market is also very close by. Overall, we loved staying here and we will do so again when we come back to Oaxaca.

Our third or fourth time here
the cleaners, cooks, and front desk folks are wonderful and hard working. the place is bit pricey, both rooms and bungalows. In the Bungalow we were given a garafon of water and daily water bottles. two water bottles a day in every room makes for a lot of plastic bottles. if they would just put garafons in the hallways we could fill our own bottles. if they rearranged the lounge chairs and the chair/tables upstairs differently, most tables for breakfast could be in the shade. it was pleasant sitting around the pool. It had shade, lounges, and tables. The street is quite safe outside.

The staff and particularly the breakfadt staff were lazy intimidating and rude. They did want you to have breakfast. One girl took the 3 hours to cut a bit of fruit. The only time yhey really worked was when the bosses came one morning. Dated decor. They say they are bunglelows they are not and even the dis abled have to go down one set of stairs and up another to eat. Plenty of drinks but they were all locked up sonyou could not buy them and you would not have asked.

The hotel is quaint and charming. Location was good. Great to have a pool when needed. Having breakfast each day was convenient and having Wifi if you don’t have a Telcel chip. The only negative I can think of is the TV. It only has 5 local channels. Your stay here will be comfortable and plenty of hot water!

This is a hotel for relaxing. The pool is very good, with pretty landscaping and plenty of loungers and other seating as well. The breakfasts are really healthy and delicious and our room was immaculate. The staff were all excellent and we felt very safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a sweet little Oasis. Very pretty place with great breakfast included. The location is walking distance to a colorful art district part of town and the Zocalo area. Absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend to everyone!

I enjoyed my stay at Casa de la Tia Tere. Keep in mind that this is more of a guest house than a corporate hotel. The staff were very hospitable and welcoming. The facilities were SUPER clean and comfortable; my room was rather basic with few frills, but cozy nonetheless. Absolutely spend time around the pool--the garden setting is so luscious! And as is probably the case for much of Oaxaca Centro, there are terrific dining options within blocks. My only small "warning" is that the neighborhood was loud at night on several occasions. Otherwise it's safe-feeling and rather peaceful. I would stay here again (but next time in a room overlooking that fabulous piscina)!

We LOVED Casa de la Tia Tere! It's perfectly located in a walkable neighborhood with plenty of great restaurants and shops close by. The hotel itself looks exactly like the pictures - so peaceful and charming with abundant natural beauty. Our double-double had plenty of room and a large bathroom for two of us. Since the rooms are away from the street, it's very quiet for a peaceful night's sleep. The cleaning crews kept the place immaculate. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace was delicious with great service and opportunities to socialize with other guests. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Oswaldo, who answered all our questions and made arrangements for airport transportation at the crack of dawn. We will definitely stay at Tia Tere's place anytime we're in Oaxaca!

We had an incredible stay, we love the proximity to the center of the city, front staff was amazing!!! the two men there are extremely helpful. One thing I would like to mention is the breakfast staff always gave me the feeling like we were not welcomed or we were like an inconvenience to them, definitely made out breakfast suck. But other than that the hotel in general was amazing!! Can't wait to return, but have my breakfast at the mercado or somewhere else... lol!!

I always stay here when a room is available as I live in the Sierra Norte and visit OAX for business several times a year. With Carlos in reception and Jorge on the grounds things always go well. There are no surprises. It is consistently clean, friendly and comfortable.

This is a gem of a hotel. Having the lovely pool was truly a gift as I used it every afternoon as a reprieve from the heat. The free breakfasts were also nice and made the stay feel welcoming. Most of the guests chatted with each other and this is thanks to the pool and breakfast area. The outside surrounding the pool is covered in flowers and greenery, quite beautiful. I liked my room but if I was going to stay again I would ask to stay facing the pool area (more light). Would stay here again!

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Above all, the staff is fantastic—helpful and kind and really look out for you. The daily breakfast is delicious and healthy, the pool area is gorgeous and relaxing, the location is great, and the rooms are comfortable and safe. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay here again!

Lovely pool area and terrace for breakfast. Nice breakfast but hot drinks could be better. The rooms were comfortable and lots of hot water and good ac. Fridge in the room very useful. Quiet location and helpful staff. The rooms in the inner courtyard did not have enough natural light and were a bit gloomy. The hotel manager was rather grumpy and there were not enough umbrellas around the pool area for shade. Lots of steps so not suitable for people with mobility restrictions.
