This Alameda 3 BR luxurious penthouse occupies the entire top floor of the building. It is spacious with premium finishes and a private deck with views looking towards the beach and surrounded by an avocado tree. It has its own private entrance, beautiful hardwood floors. Fully stock kitchen with granite countertops, large refrigerator, Dishwasher and a breakfast area with coffee maker, ground coffee, tea, sugar and cream. Its 2 blocks from downtown Alameda and 3 blocks from the beach with 2 free parking spaces. The Apartment has beautiful red Oak hardwood floors throughout. The living room opens out to the deck with outdoor furniture where guests can sit and enjoy the view looking towards the beach 3 blocks away. The deck is surrounded by a large avocado tree and privacy fencing. This Penthouse is 3 blocks from the beach and also just 2 blocks from downtown on Park Street with over 40 different restaurants, gifts shops and jewelry stores and much more; a easy walk for shopping or dinner. It has AIR CONDITION. The penthouse also has WIFI WITH AT&T INTERNET 1000 (FIBER 1 GIG) HIGH SPEED for the business person who may want to work from home. A PERFECT LOCATION. The kitchen is fully remodeled and equipped with modern appliances. This penthouse has been remodeled on the inside with an upscale design. New gas stove, dishwasher, microwave oven, garbage disposal, large refrigerator, granite countertops and new kitchen cabinets and a breakfast area. It also has a baby high chair for the infants. Its a 8 minutes drive to the Alameda ferry station on Main St. to San Francisco. The Penthouse has 2 parking spaces assigned specifically for the unit behind the building. It gives you a view from the deck looking towards the beach. This Penthouse gives visitors the peace and quietness they seek for a quiet place to stay in the middle of a beautiful city. The deck is surrounded by trees. This penthouse has its own separate outside entrance and keypad for self check in. It has entrance from the front of the building looking out to the street and the back has the deck which has stairs leading down to the parking spaces in the back of the building. The penthouse is large, 1250 sq. ft. It has 2 large bedrooms and 1 small bedroom. The large bedrooms has queen size beds and the small bedroom has 2 twin size beds.. We also have a GRACO PACK N PLAY BABY BED for those families with children. It has 1 full bath with tub & shower and a half bath with just toilet and sink. The Penthouse has a gas fireplace, many windows, redwood ceiling, a private deck with views that look towards the beach 3 blocks away and private parking. It offers complete privacy to anyone who stays here. It is in the Gold Coast neighborhood of the city which is a very safe and quiet neighborhood. Its access to the 880 freeway to Berkeley and San Francisco and just about 2 miles from the Oakland Airport.. The large living room has a real redwood ceiling with light, brick chimney and a white gas fireplace standing on black marble tiles. A comfortable sofa, coffee table and side table. It has an AIR CONDITIONER unit for the few days in summer when you may need it. It has beautiful hardwood floor thought out the Penthouse. The unique living room has 2 large windows which looks out to the redwood deck, the view of the trees and down to the beach 3 blocks away. It also has a 46' HDTV with AT&T INTERNET 1000 (FIBER 1 GIG) high speed. The kitchen has new kitchen cabinets installed. It is fully equipped for cooking. All stainless steel appliances with dishwasher, microwave oven, gas stove/oven, refrigerator/ice. All utensils, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, coffee cups, coffee maker and toaster. We also offer Peets coffee ground with cream and sugar and tea bags for the guest who would like a cup of coffee in for breakfast. The master bedroom has 1 queen size bed, dresser and night stand. It also has a 46' HDTV attached to the wall with a mounting bracket so that you can move it around. Large closet and a small reading room, an office desk and chair for the business executive. The second bedroom also has a queen size bed and large closet. The 3rd bedroom has 2 twin size beds. All the mattresses are comfort mattresses to provide a good night sleep. The private deck is made of solid redwood and has a large redwood table where you can sit and eat while enjoying the view. There is a large avocado tree hanging near the deck with lots of avocados. The deck is private and is fenced around to provide the privacy you need. Many guest spend time having dinner on the deck when the weather is beautiful. The bathrooms are totally remodeled. Bathroom #1 is a full bath with tub and shower. and new sink. The floor is white marble tile. Bathroom #2 is a 1/2 bath with a new toilet and sink and cherry vanity. Both bathrooms are stock with towels, toiletries, soap, shampoos, hair conditioner and a hair dryer. There are 2 washing machines and 2 dryers in the laundry room downstairs on the 1st floor of the building. The penthouse is just 2 blocks to downtown Alameda's historic Park Street which has around 40 different kind of restaurants, shops, museum, a movie multiplex, fresh produce market and live theater. Grocery stores like Safeway, Nob Hill foods and Trader Joe's, 7 local winery tasting rooms at the former Alameda Naval Air station. San Francisco is just 20 minutes drive away over the Bay Bridge or via BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and the Alameda/Oakland ferry to San Francisco. The Oakland Airport is just about 3 miles away. It is on the top floor of a house, with somewhat unusual shapes of the rooms because of that. But we thought that gave it a nice, somewhat special character. The location is also a plus (close to Park Street, with its many restaurants, also to the South Shore shopping center). Great safe location near to restaurants and easy access to Oakland, Berkeley, and SF. We had a minor issue with the front door but Monica was responsive and able to get it fixed quickly. The best part is off street parking directly behind the house. No searching for street parking. Host checked in with us during the stay to make sure we didn't need anything. Everyone in our party commented on how thoughtfully every aspect of the VRBO was setup. It has everything you need in every room and has plenty of space for 6 people. Great neighborhood with lots of old Victorians and friendly locals. Wonderful walks for exercise or errands. Local shops, restaurants and groceries (Trader Joe’s!) are within 10 minute walking distance. There are cute parks in the heart of the residential areas and the beach is only a 15-20 minute walk away. Things to know that will help future renters and that will hopefully be added to the VRBO profile. - Three flights of steep external stairs to get to the unit. - There was only one designated parking space instead of the two spaces specified. - There is a low roofed part of the building that juts out over the driveway just a bit. It’s a tight squeeze and untenable if you have a large or tall vehicle. Our Audi SUV and Denali fit just fine, but it was close! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. So good in fact, I felt a bit conflicted writing the review, wanted to keep it all for ourselves. ##### Dan E. The building is in a central part of Alameda - very easy to get all around the island, as well as to Oakland and SF from this location. Very clean, with comfortable beds and a nice kitchen with all the cooking equipment we needed. It was nice to have the deck to sit out and relax on. My adult son and I stayed here while in Alameda for my Granddaughter's baby shower. It was perfect for what we needed. ##### Beth S. Clean, charming and close to stores in South Shore and restaurants downtown. Check-in and checkout was extremely smooth, expect a message on the day of your arrival with information. We had the whole third floor of a Victorian house. Could have easily had six guests. Thank goodness for off-street parking too. The apartment had everything we needed and had very comfortable beds. It’s location made it the perfect base to ferry into San Fransisco or drive south to San Jose or Monterey. Plus we enjoyed just staying on the island. Lots of thing to do and places to eat. It was quieter than I expected it to be, and it was easy for the kids to sleep in the bedroom and not be disturbed by the adults in the living room. The main thing to be aware of is that it is a climb up three flights of stairs, so if anyone in the group has mobility issues this would not be a good choice. Apartment is very clean and in a good area. The owners are very pleasant people and very easy to communicate with. The only problem, I would not recommend it for older people as it is located on the 3rd floor and a little bit difficult to climb upstairs.
