"On the beach"
Very nice hotel, and staff. the room was nice and clean but on the small side. not much room for luggage and moving around comfortably. There was also a 30 dollar a day resort charge, and a 15 dollar a day valet charge. Although you could park free about 3 block away in a partner hotels parking garage.

"Great Exoerience"
Great hotel. A couple of minor issues (eg no bottled water in room) but overall it was fabulous. They took great care of us. I received a bunch of texts asking us if they could do anything for us during our stay and inviting us to return. They really should raise their game on the breakfast buffett. I never did find the crab in the crab omelette! And the food items had pieces missing (eg capers for the salmon bagels).

"Good location for a family with two children."
Grumpy staff, pool had no steps or safety ledge just a dodgy ladder. We asked for a double and two singles, the request was acknowledged but when we got there we had two doubles. It was going to be an extra $40 a night for another single bed and there wasn't really any room for a third bed in the room.

"Wonderful place to stay"
I love staying at the Ilikai because it is one of the well known landmarks and is accesible to most places like the mall, beach, marina and park. Staff listened to us and provided excellent customer service. The fireworks was a bonus and I love taking strolls by the beach.

"Resort prices without the resort experience"
I stayed here last year with friends and loved it in a 2 bedroom so I booked here with my husband and toddler this time and was really disappointed. With the price you pay, you would expect a little luxury - no pool on site, no room service, no cleaning service daily, a lumpy sofa bed, no crib provided when asked and a broken safe - you even have to call if you want new towels!! The limited staff they do have on in the lobby barely make you feel welcome, if they look up from what they are doing at all. Having to cart our own luggage and a cranky toddler in a pram because there aren't enough staff was just one of the examples of poor service. And then to get picked up or dropped off your transport picks you up in the middle of the street as there's no driveway and limited street parking. THEN, they stick you with a $200 cleaning fee for your stay - on top of the outrageous prices! Next time I'm going to book the hotel down the street offering the same condo style with all the hotel amenities you'd expect on holidays. It seems the Recency uses its outrigger name to demand big prices when it's really not worth it.

"Nice hotel, friendly staff"
This hotel is close to beach, zoo, aquarium. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and big and had a great view of Diamond head. Never tried their bar or their 24 hour food but was nice being able to buy bottled drinks 24/7. Only complaint elevators are slow and no indicator to know which floor elevator is on when waiting for it.

"Great place to stay in Waikiki! "
Nicest bell hop employees ever! Great rooms with very modern furniture and bathrooms. Every room also has a balcony which was awesome. Not dead center of all the action but very easy to walk to everything. Parked our car and left it the entire time. Rooms are idea for 2 people, very efficient size with everything you need but not tons of extra room. Would reccomend and stay there again!
