This is an old and run down hotel. We arrived later in the evening and were given the smallest room in the place. The view out the window was a solid brick wall next door. The AC was not on when we arrived so the room was stifling hot and smelled of industrial cleaner. The bathroom had not been cleaned and someone else’s hair was everywhere. The shower faucet did not work and the sink faucet that was too large and sprayed water onto the floor. We asked for a different room but none were available. I will never stay there again.

Love this hotel, great staff, beautiful ambiance, close to everything in Waikiki. You can't go wrong here, if you love Waikiki, this is the hotel to stay in. Reasonable prices too.

Phenomenal pool!

Posted 4-Apr-2018
The staff at this hotel are very accommodating. The Pool is absolutely beautiful & lovely that they have a hot tub. The interior could use some updating but it was very clean and great value for the price point.

Two-Star Hotel at Best

Posted 7-Mar-2018 on Hotels
Let's face it, the Aqua Bamboo needs an overhaul. The little air conditioner was so loud, I thought it was going to take off and fly around the room. The trim and caulking all need to be replaced. The bathroom faucets leak. The vanity faucet is ridiculously misfit (a giant, hooked faucet that ended at the front of the sink, not in the middle). The drain in the shower backed up, so I had to take a shower in inches of pooled water. Parking is expensive and difficult. I had to have my girlfriend get out of our vehicle and guide me into the space, which was so small and circumscribed by pillars and other objects. The external balcony faces the external balcony of the renters across the way (just several feet away), and so privacy there is non-existent). No exercise room, and nowhere to workout nearby. No breakfast (coffee is good, though). There are some cool things. You can rent free movies and play them in the Play Station in the room. The location was convenient for me. There is a nice pool area. We had a kitchenette that comes with a "suite," but this suite has two double beds, so if you have a sleeping partner, brace yourself for cover fights and edge-of-bed perils.

Good location

Posted 6-Mar-2018 on Wotif
Pros: Location, staff, felt safe
Cons: Room could do with a simple upgrade to soft furnishings and cleanliness, A full length mirror would be desirable, plus a light next to the safe.
Location: Shops, beach, restaurants and zoo are all within walking distance. Nice open parks available for walks
Good location, pleasant pool area, excellent staff. Room rather dull and shabby, however, with some minor changes to the detail of the rooms, I would stay again

Great 21 Anniv. Wedding Celebration at Aqua Bamboo

Posted 4-Mar-2018 on Orbitz
Pros: Comfortable, close to attractions, cleanliness, friendly staff and great hotel facilities.
Cons: Pleasant experience for budget conscious travelers seeking comfort over luxury. Noise from street and air conditioning unit.
Location: Located in Waikiki, the beach, shopping, restaurants and a break taking hike at Diamond Head are a few of many attractions in the area.
Grateful to the staff at Aqua Bamboo for making our 21st wedding anniversary vacation in Hawaii a memorable one! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by staff. I booked a room with a Queen sized bed on Orbitz but when I arrived it showed as a double. Aqua upgraded our room to a kitchenette to accommodate us when I mentioned our anniversary. Aqua surprised us the next morning with champagne and a box of chocolates to congratulate us on our special occasion. The gift set the tone for a great experience at the hotel throughout our 2 week stay where we enjoyed the hot tub and pool, friendly guests and convenience of being 2 blocks from the beach, restaurants and local attractions. I would recommend Aqua to travel seekers desiring comfort over the allure of a luxury hotel.

nice hotel

Hotel was nice, great staff, close enough to the beach at a price that was affordable. Hotel was somewhat outdated feeling. The only downfall was that it smelled old and musty in the hallways.
