The unit is directly across from access to the waterfront walking trail, and it is a short walk in the other direction into the picturesque town to the small grocery store, a good butcher and a couple of bakeries and restaurants.The space is functional with a decently equipped kitchen and a BBQ in the private back patio (where there is also lots of space to hang laundry). There is good storage space in the principal bedroom and a good sized walk-in shower in the adjacent bathroom. We can definitely recommend this as a good base for a couple or small family in charming Port Elliot. The room was a disappointment upon opening the door, smelly, crumbs on the bench, large sticky spot on the table. Furnishings were all very old, cracks in the walls, mould around the room & bathroom. We left the room until we absolutely had to return to change to go out for our function. After getting back from our function we turned on the tv to find it broken in the corner & lines running down the screen to the bottom. Only 1 pillow each, no spares. Neighbours screaming at each other & crying at 10pm. Heard a smoke alarm go off twice during the night. Woke up to have a shower and leave immediately this morning to find there was not enough water pressure for the water to spray out, it just dribbled out. Was cold for a few minutes before it finally came warm enough for me to get in only for it to turn freezing cold again within 2 minutes before I could wash off my soap! I exited this place in tears. Worse stay I've ever had anywhere in my entire life."
