Although the property is very old and a bit tired in places it was clean and comfortable. The staff are friendy and helpful, the food was very good and Clffe the chef keeps a good eye on front of house making sure customers are happy. A very enjoyable stay.

Friendly staff. food good. The bedroom could have abetter layout with a smaller double bed to allow bed side tables and lamps. Biscuits left with the tea making facilities would be a bonus as would a larger tv. Bathroom was adequate. Restaurant ok with some nice menu options. Breakfast options quite limited compared with other B/Bs we've stayed in. Prefer a buffet style set up where you can choose what you want . The cooked breakfast was adequate though.

What a fabulous place to stay! It’s a 400 year old inn and the charming character of the place has been kept with cozy individual rooms in the downstairs part of the inn The bedroom we stayed in was spacious with en suite and a king size bed. We had one of the best night’s sleep we’ve had for a long one onthe super-comfy mattress . The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this inn if ever you’re up this way.

Rooms could do with a bit of modernising and the annoying green light in the room at night was a bit ridiculous - but given the price point, excellent value for money. Decent cooked breakfast and coffee, generally clean rooms (a bit of mould but nothing crazy) and welcoming staff.

The host and hostess were friendly and made us welcome. The food was excellent and portions generous. Out room was adequate and bed extremely comfortable.We would be happy to stay again. Peter and Lorna.

Two night stay, visiting family. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast and offered pack up for journey home, but we didn’t need one. Very comfy bed, nice and quiet.

Warm welcome, allowed to check-in early which was what we needed. Room was warm, beds were comfortable and breakfast (included in the price) was lovely. A very hospitable place, which I would recommend to friends and would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient for my daughter and I visiting family nearby. Car park was secure and in an area with limited parking, invaluable. Bedroom and bathroom very clean and warm. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We were booked in for 2 nights but only stayed 1. No reflection on property but had to return home for business reasons. Would stay again.

Nice pub, good parking , rooms ok , could do with an update . Good beer and food , nice simple breakfast . Let down by no wifi in room and weak mobile signal , shower screen missing for some reason . Beds were comfortable, spacious , quiet room . Bit of TLC and would be spot on .

The room was very comfortable and warm, huge bathroom! Breakfast very nice and staff friendly and helpful. Pub was lovely and cosy. Entrance to car park bit odd and plumbing slightly old fashioned but would be happy to stay again.

Lovely pub B&B
Perfect for an overnight. Straightforward pub B&B, exacltly whst we wanted. Clean & friendly, lovey brekky included. We got there late coz of delays when kitchen had closed. Landlord took pity nad made us some ham cobs, went down well with a beer. Would recommend.

Nice place but disappointing room
The pub/hotel was pleasant and the staff were all lovely but the room was disappointing. Clean and tidy, but the bathroom was terrible. The light didn’t work so pitch black in there, and the extractor fan also didn’t turn off all through the night. It was very noisy and despite shutting the door it kept us up most of the night. There was a shower over the bath but strangely no shower screen or shower curtain so I’m not quite sure how you can shower without soaking the entire bathroom… Breakfast was nice in the morning which made us feel slightly better when we checked out, but the bathroom was unacceptable.

It was very old fashioned with a strong damp smell ,I had to spray perfume on my face to block out the damp !! The pillows were the worst so we both slept without them! And it want a double bed it was two singles pushed together so wasn’t what was advertised and also could feel the gap between them ,it was uncomfortable,so we didn’t allow well at all ! The bathroom was basic but that was clean , sorry but wouldn’t stay again
