Fairly new hotel that is still partially in development. In our opinion there was too little focus on the basics, such as breakfast and diner - both not of the quality you might expect, especially for the prices that come with it. Moreover, there was a lot of chlorine in the pool water. The reason for booking a place like this is because you want to use the tranquility of the countryside and you want to be able to stay on the premises. In our opinion Zahir could do more to facilitate that.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The pool especially is unbeatable and the location is most convenient to discover the highlights in the area (noto, ortigia, sea) We would definitely return...thanks Alessia

Zahir country house is set in a beautiful garden setting with a very large infinity pool. A calm and beautiful retreat in the nature. What we liked: The Beautiful gardens, the very large and stylish swimming pool, the sitting and lounging areas around the pool and garden, the very friendly staff, who really go out of their way to help, the modern design of rooms and common areas, the free ample parking (in the shade below solar panels), the closeness to Noto, the beaches of the Vendicari nature reserve, the romantic lighting at night, the breakfast (once you know what you can order), the freshly cooked light lunches. What could be improved: Breakfast at first looks simple however there are loads of yummy items available on request, you just have to ask for them. Photos of the rooms should be updated as eg the suite now has a mezzanine, which is important to know if you have kids. There was some confusing communication with staff about whether it would be possible to have dinner, the final answer is: not in the resort but in a nice neighbouring restaurant. Some of the building work/landscaping needs to be completed around the new car park and the suite which was extended by private accommodation. Once that’s done, it will be beautiful also in that area.

Geschmackvolles Country House in schöner Natur

Das sehr geschmackvolle Zahir Country House liegt in schöner Sizilianischer Natur. Die Zimmer sind modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit angenehmer Klimaanlage. Die Nähe zu Foto und dem Naturreservat ist sehr praktisch, uns hat es sehr gut gefallen.

Perdu dans les champs.

Hôtel perdu dans la nature. Introuvable sur le GPS. C'est par Google que avons finalement trouvé. Hôtel propre, chambre spacieuse avec balcon, RdC et premier étage sans ascenseur. Heureusement qu'on nous a aidés à monter les valises. Sachant qu'il n'y avait pas d'ascenseur nous avions réservé une chambre au RdC. L'odeur d'égouts y était insupportable. Il nous ont proposé des aérosols! Suite à notre refus ils nous ont donné nos deux chambres au premier étage. Le petit-déjeuner est correct. A notre demande nous avons eu des oeufs brouillés. Dommage que les tasses soient petites et que l'on doive demander à être réservistes.

Great quiet location off the beaten path

A lovely B&B in a secluded location, close to the beach and yet 15 min to Noto. Facility has been recently renovated. Rooms are bright and spacious, but the aesthetic can said to be lacking in old-world warmth or charm. Comfortable, but in a modern way. There is a large breakfast room, but the common area living room is not inviting to use beyond that. I don't know if this is normally the case, or if during the high season the guests are invited to use the common living room at night. Since we were there with another couple in the off season, is was a bit strange not to have a sitting area that we could use outside of our rooms (during warmer months there are outdoors areas to use, even at night). Additionally, it seems that this place is not really sure if it is a B&B or a hotel. From the guest experience, it therefore lacks what either one of these fully offer. Full-time staff on hand, or on your own with little or no direction or assistance, except for at breakfast? The continental breakfast itself was very basic, with little choice of items. Not what a B&B should aspire to. Additionally, to accommodate foreigners, there has to be some ability to communicate in more than one language. The owner did not speak English, and our Italian is quite basic. There was someone there to help out, who was present for just part of the day and who could speak English, and this helped us immensely. But whether there is full time staff there during the high season is unknown.

Beautiful country house.

The house is fairly new and well built. It's in a lovely setting and the Owner's/staff were extremely nice and helpful. It's only a few minutes to drive to town and from the beach. Wish we could've stayed longer.
