The hotel is very neat and clean. The dinner was excellent.. Just if the breakfast had been with with some consideration for vegetarians it would have been amazing. Also, may be I did not ask but I need more than one cup of coffee when I am on business travels. We arrived at 17:45 on the Sunday, to find that the kitchen closed at 18:00\. We had just walked 14 miles as part of our Grand Union Canal walk for Yorkshire Cancer Research. The staff were very accommodating and we were well fed! The shock was when we received the receipt for the meals and a few beers and a 10% service charge had been added. We were not asked whether we wanted to pay that. The Narrowboat hotel pub was average but served its purpose which was to provide affordable accommodation near to a venue where we were attending a wedding. The rooms were basic, would have benefited from being ‘aired’ as they smelt musty. Our front door looked like someone had tried to force it open but it was secure- all just a little tired! The breakfast we had in the pub was lovely and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Accommodation was fairly priced for the facilities offered and the food was good value. Dont do breakfast but recommend a cafe called Granny’s in Weedon which was excellent. Single glased windows and only a small electric heater, would be nice in summer but cold it the winter. Shower had a 5 minute delay before it started.
