I grew up in Teesside in the 80's and live in the US - I fully recommend this hotel. The room was above the Three Tuns pub across the street - I guess they run both properties. My room had new bathroom fixtures and a great walk-in shower. My deal also included a full English breakfast downstairs which I'd recommend if you want to go hiking around Sheep Wash/Cod Beck for most of the day. Had a small problem checking in as they had no record of my booking but I showed my Hotels.com confirmation & was taken to a room quickly. Lovely room. Lovely Country Pub Hotel in the center of the village. Food, Drinks and Staff were great. I was disappointed. Apparently this was a 4-star place. I was squeezed into a tiny room, with a dripping toilet, a hair on the bed and a worm in the bed. It was not possible to get breakfast before 8.30, even though I only asked for a coffee and fruit (which they didn't have).
