Lakefront Cottage Retreat on a Private Point in North East, PA Lovingly rebuilt by the owners, this Lake Erie retreat combines handcrafted charm with modern comfort. The cottage retains its original stone walls, crafted by the owner’s late uncle, and is now nestled on an exclusive, private point along the shoreline—where sunrise to sunset views take center stage. Designed to fully embrace the natural beauty of Lake Erie, the cottage offers a variety of peaceful places to unwind. Enjoy coffee or cocktails on the covered porch’s wicker furniture, sway in a hammock under the maples at the water’s edge, or gather around the Adirondack chairs in the yard or the firepit on the beach. Inside, a cozy, slipcovered sofa in the front room offers panoramic lake views that feel close enough to touch. The open interior layout is made for gathering. A farmhouse dining table seats up to eight, with a second table in the front room accommodating six—perfect for meals, puzzles, or game nights. Outside, a large picnic table and string lights over the hammock add extra charm to evening dinners or laid-back afternoons. In the living room, original stonework frames the gas fireplace with a custom black walnut mantle, creating a cozy nook with slipcovered seating and a TV for quiet evenings indoors. White tongue-and-groove wood paneling throughout the home gives the cottage a clean, timeless feel. The kitchen is designed with entertaining in mind, featuring upscale appliances, granite countertops, a walk-in pantry, farmhouse sink, and open shelving. The property was clean and exactly as described. The first floor open floor plan was incredibly comfortable and relaxing for my entire family. The beach area was also spectacular. The rocks take a little getting used to, but having access to the lake from you back door was just amazing. The water was comfortable for swimming and there was plenty of shade from the trees. The house and location are beautiful. We enjoyed many activities including walking on the beach, star gazing, painting rocks and playing board games. The home is gorgeous and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for the week. The kids loved playing along the shore. We had room to set up yard games. Enormous lawn with a hammock and string lights, perfect for the kids to explore and play. House was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Beach is rocky but still very accessible from the house and lawn and all of our kids swam (with water shoes). It was wonderful to hear the waves lapping and feel surrounded by water as far as we could see. There is only one set of neighbors in view and they were friendly, and far enough away that we didn't feel we were bothering them playing games on the lawn. Beds and showers were super comfortable and luxurious. The town is quite nice - we had a great lunch at the Skunk and Goat and ordered from both town pizza shops while we were there. The hosts were very responsive during our stay. A pretty perfect family getaway from Pittsburgh! ##### Rose R. The lake house is a wonderful get-away for a week of sun. water and eagles. We all enjoy spending time together. It’s a beautiful and relaxing getaway. We enjoyed seeing so many more eagles this year and had a great time hunting for sea glass every day. Definitely created fond memories! ##### Aubrey B. This cottage is beautiful! Much larger than we expected! The owners were very easy to work with even thought they were out of state during most of our visit. I would not recommend this home for handicapped or elderly who do not walk well. The parking is not close to the cottage and there are no grabbers in the bathrooms. There are also no railings at the outside steps. The views here are to die for! The sunsets are gorgeous! We experienced all kinds of weather during our stay, but never failed to enjoy the skies and water. Where the weather was cold or rainy, we enjoyed the cozy fireplace and family room with windows everywhere to watch the views. We took amazing pictures! If you are not handicapped, this place is to die for! My friends and I teased about how we could buy this place from the owners. They are very nice people and try hard to accommodate your needs. I highly recommend this cottage! ##### Patty W. Among all the wonderful features, the sunroom is excellent for building jigsaw puzzles while still enjoying magnificent lake views! Dave and Sam are excellent hosts.
