Exclusive Lake Erie Cottage

Retaining the original stone walls which were handcrafted by their late uncle, two brothers lovingly rebuilt this farmhouse-style cottage which sits on an exclusive and private point on the shores of lake Erie.

From sunrise to sunset nature puts on a spectacular show in front of his home which was thoughtfully designed to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. The seating options are endless…. Comfortable wicker furniture on the covered front porch, a hammock strung between large maple trees at the water’s edge, a group of Adirondack chairs in the front yard, another group of chairs around a campfire on the beach or inside the front room on a comfortable slipcovered sofa (where it looks like the lake is almost reachable with one’s hand when sitting down) are all perfect spots to enjoy the beauty of Lake Erie.

The interior of the house was designed with family gatherings and entertaining foremost in mind. The open floor-plan features views of the living and dining room from the kitchen. The farmhouse dining table can accommodate up to 8 people while another table in the front room can seat up to 6 people. Both are ideal for spending time enjoying meals or playing games. Outside a large picnic table is perfect for dining, games or crafts. Cafe lighting strung over the hammock adds to the ambience in the evenings from both inside and outside the cottage.

In the living room, the fireplace showcases some of the original stonework and features a large black walnut mantle. This room also provides more comfortable slipcovered seating and is a cozy spot to relax and watch t.v. or sit in front of the gas fireplace. All of the walls throughout the cottage are newly constructed of tongue and groove wood paneling painted white.

The kitchen features upscale appliances, granite countertops, a walk-in pantry, glass front refrigerator and farmhouse sink. The open shelving and large windows create a relaxed, nostalgic feel which makes meal preparation inviting. Just outside a gas grill sits on a stone patio among the wooded side yard and is a perfect spot for grilling and mingling with cocktails before dinner. Guests can also relax and keep the cook company while seated on the four bar-stools at the kitchen peninsula. Nearby is a dry -bar/ hutch, complete with beverage refrigerator and ice-maker designed for entertaining ease.

There is a strict limit of 8 overnight guest with this rental.

The cottage is equipped with central air conditioning and heat.

The owners of the home are happy to share this unique home as a vacation get away for one or two families but it is not intended to host any type of event or party.
