When I checked in at 8:30 pm, the office was locked and dark. Another customer had to point out the 'ring for service' bell; the concierge made it clear I was interrupting his call. He also warned me not to slip on the unsanded ice right outside my room... and all across the parking lot. The room was fairly dirty, with black handprints on the walls, bug smears on the ceiling, makeup(?) smears on the lightswitches and a lot of mildew in the bathroom. The boxspring had a bedbug cover, but the mattress cover was only half on. The sheets and towels were laundered but stained. There was only one blanket, and I would have had to walk across the ice to the dark office to get another one. I was looking for a simple, clean room, as I wasn't going to spend much time there, but it's now clear the Google reviews are planted.

However, we would like to address some aspects of your feedback regarding your behavior during your stay.It's our standard policy to charge for additional linens, and while we provided you with an extra one complimentary, there may have been a misunderstanding about the policy.Regarding your frequent visitors, our policy requires all guests to check in with the office for security reasons. Unfortunately, your guests did not comply, leading to the cancellation of your deposit. We understand this may have caused frustration, but we must uphold our policies to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests and staff.Lastly, our team applies sand and salt to walkways for safety reasons, especially during winter. The front desk mentioned this was done considering your use of glasses and walking stick, prioritizing your safety. We hope you understand that our actions are driven by a genuine concern for the well-being of our guests.We appreciate your feedback and encourage open communication. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience during your stay.

1 night stay, solo booking. Room was clean & comfortable as expected of a basic motel/inn. Front desk was not always manned. Lacked a wake up call service, however alarm clock was available in the room Overall experience was good. Would not hesitate to book again in the future.

Thank you for taking time to review our property. As we talked that breakfast was undergoing some changes in menu because of winters, so it may take little time to come into effect. Secondly, the large board on the road says SPECIAL RATES FOR CREW. I remember you mentioning that you had hard time reading things in dark. So not your fault.

The Knights Inn has a great location in downtown North Bay, but it was really more of a bottom-of-the-barrel motel. The inside of our room was clean and comfortable, and the gentlemen in the office were very friendly. However, the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, and there was a terrible smell of cigarettes when you used the blow dryer. The "breakfast included" was the strangest yet: two slices of bread in a plastic bag, with salt and pepper, honey and peanut butter, some chocolate chip cookies, and an apple. No real milk for your Tim Horton's coffee pod, nor hot coffee for you. It's sad how much it costs to stay even at a place like this with current inflation, but I would recommend splurging for another location.
