Great location in the "middle" of the Skagen area. Mostly one-story buildings. Unusual for a 4-star hotel to not have air-condition or even ceiling fans, which was a problem with the hot summer nights and sleep quality. The rooms are quite rudimentary.

Great location and well run
The hotel is well run, clean and efficient. the breakfast was excellent with a wide range of choices. The hotel borders a beautiful park with the musical trees which makes for a lovely walk to the harbor

Everything you need for a beautiful region
Both a hotel and apart-hotel complex. Ample parking, onsite pools, jacuzzi, saunas, games room etc. Perfect for children keeping them busy. Located a short bike ride or car journey to Skagen centre. We were out most of the time enjoying what skagen has to offer, that said beds were relatively comfortable, but it was warm at night in with No AC. Restaurant had a good selection of food available. All in all a pleasant experience.

The room had no AC, and even with all windows open we had issues getting the room to an OK temperature. The room also gets extremely cramped when deploying the fold-out bed, had to move half of the furniture, a bit impractical.

Happy weekend getaway
Loved everything about it, just a bit crowded and no parking spaces near room. Everything else was amazing!! Ppl everywhere so nice to help and make everything good for us, and so glad that everything and everybody spoke english, makes it way better! So glad we chose this hotel for our honeymoon weekend!

The dream dunes of Skagen
I was traveling with my daughter and grandchildren, We had an apartment style room which was very comfortable. There was a lot to do and the scenery was breathtaking along the coast. The children love running on the paths on the dunes. The only issue really was the rain, which we had a little of everyday, but that was not the Hotel's fault nor could they have changed it.

Good, but not as good as I imagined it would be
Overall I had a really good stay at Color Hotel, but for a 4 stars hotel, a few things could have been better: I had booked a family room, and I had to make the kids bed on my own on arrival, thus seeing that the bottom protective sheet was not of pristine condition. The next day we visited the indoor playground (small and dark) and the outdoor playground (not in good shape at all, to the point of falling apart). On top of this we had to pay extra to use the derelict mini golf. I think this is a pretty cheap move to make the hotel's guest pay for that. Or else make it a very nice mini golf! The same can be said for the entertainment room, not twice as nice as the lobby or the restaurant area. A little bit of improvement would go a long way in making these areas more cosy.

The hotel is on the bike trail, but too far from the center of town to walk with young children. There was a wonderful breakfast included in the price that had something for everyone. The family room was large with enough space for 2 children's beds and 2 chairs.

Short stay in Skagen
This is a great holiday hotel close to Skagen, which is a beautiful touristy town. It's easy to spend time in the hotel if you have children, with a (cold!) swimming pool, sauna, mini golf, football table etc. It feels very safe. We had a car to get into town. You can hire bikes for adults at the hotel but there are no bikes for kids. Recommend it.

Nice hotel and perfect for families with children with the intention of staying for awhile. Location not convenient if you will just stay the night and want to enjoy your night downtown (with wine)...

Hotel is a 15 minute walk from the shopping/restaurant area of Skagen, and even further from the 'meeting of the seas', but it does have bikes for hire. Exterior of hotel looks a bit shabby but interiors are pleasant and roomy, but far from luxurious. Attribute the relatively high room rate to the cost of being in Skagen. Good breakfast.

A GREAT GET AWAY - ON ONE'S OWN OR WITH FAMILY
The hotel has a beach atmosphere to it. It is surrounded by dunes but is close to Skagen town-centre by car or bicycle. My room was airy, ample and comfortable, and I enjoyed free wi-fi and modern bathroom facilities. The staff at the front desk, restaurant and bar were cheerful and helpful and very personable. The food was superb in the restaurant, and that provided at breakfast was very varied and well made. I recommend this hotel for families over the summer months, as there is a lot of nature to visit in the area, as well as interesting venues for art enthusiasts. The hotel has family apartments, which makes it great for a long get-away.

Lovely hotel
We had a great stay. The bar/café food was excellent and the room was really nice (standard room in main building - the apartment buildings didn't look too nice from the outside). Staff were great and very helpful. We enjoyed the swimming pool and free sauna. Lots of walks around the hotel but reception staff didn't understand when we asked for a map of footpaths - instead they showed us the route into town on roads which had footpaths ("sidewalks") - next time we would ask for walking trails or hiking trails.

When we came, we were given a room that was smelling very badly. Not only the receptionist refused to check it or send someone to check it but also informed us that there was no room. After a few minutes of discussions, we were given a different room. Lies or simply bad service? Breakfast options were limited!

A peaceful Danish Hotel
At the northern tip of Jutland, this very clean & tastefully decorated hotel with clean lines and a beautiful designed Danish interior. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I loved my room, it was comfortable. Perhaps one of the beauties of this hotel is It's off the main road and a little ways from town. It's fully booked on weekends so be sure to have a reservation. There is a massage room downstairs. i indulged myself for a birthday massage. 850 Kr. The massuse was a very good and I was very, very relaxed at the end of the hour. There is a upscale restaurant here which I didn't eat at. I drove a couple miles to the best restaurant recommended by Frommer's Danish Travel Guide, the Skagen Fiskerestaurant., but that's another review. I'd stay here again for sure!

We had dinner in the evening together with our two children, and nothing was as expected. The tournedos were the toughest We've ever had, for all three of us. Two mistakes made by the servant according to our order. We will probably stay in the hotel again, but never have dinner.
