We enjoyed a very nice 1 night stay at this extraordinary hotel. We traveled to Nijmegen by train, so the hotel was very conveniently located. Service was excellent and prices for both the restaurant and rooms were a great value, considering the high quality and number of choices.
We stayed in room #2, which was clean, spacious and nicely decorated, however there were a couple things that would make it a bit more functional and enjoyable. For example, it was odd that the toilet and sink were far apart (w/the shower in-between), and there was nowhere except a small, narrow shelf above the sink on which to store personal items, and nowhere to put a bar of soap in the shower.
While the fireplace was delightful, the instructions for use were not very explicit and took much time, trial & error to get it to turn on. It was also very narrow (which was okay) and located on the wall farthest from the bed...which was also not such a big problem since it generated a LOT of heat, even when turned down to the lower setting.
The breakfast was truly amazing, with many delicious & indulgent choices. Unfortunately we didn't have quite enough time or appetite to fully enjoy half of what was put in front of us.
Overall, other than those few inconveniences, we enjoyed the hotel very much and would highly recommend it and definitely go there again if the opportunity ever arose.
