There's no street level crosswalk across Higashi-odori. If you walk up from the rail station, on the southwest side of the street and try to cross at the hotel you have the option to use the over-the-street walkway over the street (which is awkward if you have heavy rolling luggage!) They “centrally” control the temperature in the rooms and pumped heat into the room all night. When calling the front desk to turn it down or use some AC they said no and to open the window. The hotel is at a major 8 lane intersection and had to open the window and was kept up by loud revving motorcycles and cars all night. Beds are cheap, thin, hard and worn and got really sore.
