Hotel Le Meurice has a great location on a quiet road, just a few minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais and an easy walk to the historical centre of the city. The hotel is small and features Art Deco styling. The staff are very friendly, and there is an elevator up to the rooms. We arrived during a heatwave and were thankful for the in-room air conditioner. We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel and at nighttime it was really quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. The bathroom was surprisingly large and included a shower.
Breakfast is served in the tiny lobby but there is no need to pay for breakfast at the hotel because there are numerous excellent options nearby. For example, the Bio-coop Nice Grimaldi offers fantastic organic breads, fruit, yoghurts, et cetera, and the cafe called Maison Celine Patisserie serves delicious pastries and coffee. Both are within a one-minute walk from the hotel. For dinner, there is an overwhelming range of restaurants close by. The problem with the hotel is that there is a major construction site in the rear. The noise of cranes and jackhammers and the deep vibrations that shake the room continue on and off throughout the day. If you intend to spend most of the daytime out sightseeing this should not be a problem. At some point the construction will end. Overall, we had a great experience at Hotel Le Meurice and would happily stay here again.
