Nice hotel, bring your own pillow

Posted 19-Apr-2017
Room was nice, bed was comfy, view was great and price was decent for a king Jacuzzi room. However their pillows are of the lowest quality and we found some small hairs in the Jacuzzi....Overall I would return.....with my own pillow.

Perfect view

Posted 18-Apr-2017
We were pleased with hotel location and beautiful view. Our room was in the 17th floor overlooking the falls. We found bend aid in the tea cup on the day of our arrival. It tells me a lot how they clean the room. We stayed for 3 nights there. The cleaning lady never removed the dust out of the furniture. Also room does not have a safe box. Water in the pool was cold

Would recommend!

Stayed on the 17th floor, awesome view! Pool was a great distraction for the kids. Room was clean, staff were friendly and the one issue I had (tv) was fixed in 15 minutes. Location was awesome if you are going to the falls, a little far away from "the strip" of wax museums, etc.

Clean but staff not friendly.

Posted 14-Apr-2017
Hotel is small and clean but staff not friendly especially the front desk, very dry. I always thought Canadian were very friendly people, I guess, you can find unfriendly people in any nationally.

1 night stand

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: The Veiw
Cons: Add outlets in room for phones or laptop, and give some kind of interaction with customers at least have someone say Hi when you walk in the door.
Location: The Falls
We only stayed for 1 night the view was great, however buy stuff to bring to your room no stores near you and nothing in the hotel. As for the staff I only talk to 3 people and I spoke with them for less then a minute so that is tough to rank. I could not believe that I had to unplug lights to be able to charge my devices. All and all the room was adequate however nothing special absolutely no interaction with customers very impersonal. As I say no bang for the buck.

Nice hotel with great view.

Posted 8-Apr-2017
Really friendly staff. We got checked in at noon thanks for that which was really helpful. For those afraid about the charge for internet - it is included in resort fee. I cannot agree with people mentioning many taxes or additional fees as as i found all hotels in that area charge additional resort fee etc. The same about taxes - this is the thing in US and Canada and it has nothing to do with the hotel. View was amazing!!

Hidden Charges

Posted 3-Apr-2017
Pros: The view
Cons: They need to hire a designer to decorate the rooms. The view was great, but there was a massive wall unit obstructing it, just to house a TV
Location: Great location (Casino, Falls, restaurants)
I reserved the room through Expedia. The price for our room was $100.00 plus $30.00 for "taxes & fees", plus another $20.00 on top of this for a "property fee", bringing the total to $150.00. When we arrived at he hotel there was yet another $17.00 "property fee". In the end, we paid $75.00 in taxes and fees for a $100.00 room. Parking was an extra $25.00, so we parked at a neighbouring motel for $10.00 to limit the up-charges. Wifi is also extra, welcome to the Oakes. The hotel itself is low end with dated decor, poor room and hotel layout, with few amenities, but the view is amazing. We will pay the extra to stay at the Embassy Suites next time, or pay half the price for a comparable hotel with a less breathtaking view.

Thank you for your review, i apologise if the information was not shared through expedia to you. The 14.95+hst is payable at the hotel. This fee allows our guest access to wifi, discount coupons for attractions, local calls, pool and fitness area, 14th floor observation area and the shuttle service during the evening. I will share you thoughts

Renovation needed

Posted 26-Mar-2017
Ok , there are 2 chairs in the room they are very low and very uncomfortable when you sit on it you sinks in. There is only one table and it is too high to use with the chairs. Old coffee machine with one bag of coffee. The coffee is light you might as well have nothing. There is nothing there to make you feel you are on vacation. Very disappointed also they charge you tourist fee of 18.75 mandatory. Resort fee also not worth it at all. I could not even use the jacuzzi it was too hard to get in. Never saw a jacuzzi like that.

March Break with grandsons.

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: Close to walk places.
Cons: Standard rooms need to be improved!
Location: Good choices for food and entertainment.
I thought everything was going smooth until I checked in...extra charges for pool and WiFi and $25.00 per night to park. The room was not what I expected. It seems because I went for a special that was offered I received a lower standard of room...right down to the bathroom toiletries! No fridge, paper cups, no housecoat, and the pull-out couch was gross...not to mention no sheets to make it up, but too used to have anyone sleep on it! Employee at check in was not pleasant. We asked for a later check out in order to get breakfast and was told this was not allowed (Saturday of the March Break), I don't think many people were checking in on this day at all!

Decent Hotel close to the falls

Posted 21-Mar-2017
Pros: The view of the falls and the pool.
Cons: Room service is expensive even for a hotel, it claims to have a gym but its a cold room with 4 cardio machines, no safety deposit in room either.
Location: Right near the falls and Fun street (which is where you should go) Also near iHop and a casino. Must visit --> Grand buffet (must be 19 or older)
The hotel was alright, had a pool and a decent view of the falls + a great location; however, the room itself wasn't outstanding.
