Nice staff, great location, some problems

Posted 18-Oct-2016
I was here for a conference in town for 3 nights. The room was clean, modern and comfy. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. The problems? 2 of them. Night one, my room (#234) overlooked the awning where Appleby's restaurant staff gather, shout, and swear, day and night. I'm no prude but the noise made it hard to sleep. I banged on the window and passed out from exhaustion after 12 hours' cross country travel but the next day, as the shouting and swearing continued right below my window, I asked to change rooms. The manager immediately made the change. Day 2, I left my room with cleaning staff in it, a lovely woman, at about 3pm. When I returned at about 6:30pm I saw my door propped open. The bolt you can use from inside to lock the door closed was wedging the door open. So, the contents of my room (e.g.) my belongings were fully accessible to everyone in the hotel. I don't believe anything of mine was taken. Safety, cleanliness and somewhere quiet to sleep - I don't ask for much but with only cleanliness here, I can't recommend it at this price point.

Extra charges suck

Posted 18-Oct-2016
Pros: Location was great. Front desk staff not really friendly. Cleaning staff are great and very cheerful
Cons: Extra money for nothing
Location: Close to the incline. Casino and restaurants. Walked every where.
You are paying an extra $40 per day which really is unfair. For parking $25.00 a day and guest services $15.00 per day. Its extra money that you are paying. Dont agree with this at all. For that might find another hotel. For 3 night stay forked out almost another $150.00 not good.

Over priced!!

Posted 17-Oct-2016
Pros: The location and view, which you can get at any falls view hotel.
Cons: Way over priced. No fridge is a major let down and everything could've been better.
Location: The location is good. Casino not to far.
My guest and I stayed in the standard falls view double bed room. The room was clean and had a nice view. Other than that, the bathroom was very small and poorly laid out. There is no bar fridge and only a tiny Ice bucket. We used garbage cans to keep our drinks cold. Don't plan on watching any tv because trying to find any Canadian channels will just be a waste of time and a let down.

Niagara Falls is breathtaking

Posted 17-Oct-2016
Pros: The view of the falls from my hotel window, BEAUTIFUL.
Cons: The price on high side The parking should be included Disappointed with strong chlorine smell in pool area
Location: Hotel located by all restaurants, shops, casinos, etc. My favorite restaurant is the Skylon Tower, go early. N.Falls is a great family trip.
I had a four day weekend and decided a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. My stay at the Oaks was relaxing, the view from hotel window was beautiful. The people were nice and accommodating and plenty to do. Once in a life time trip.

Unexpected hidden fees and taxes on taxes

Posted 15-Oct-2016
Parking is not included and more expensive than other hotels around. The room was outdated and not worth of the price. Taxes on every single items and tax after. So disappointed and unprofessional. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

Wouldn't stay aain

Posted 13-Oct-2016
Pros: Staff, friendliness, location
Cons: Include your hidden fees in the price so people can make a better informed decision. Update your rooms.
I booked this hotel because it seemed like I was getting a good deal on it, based on the Expedia price. However upon arrival I was charged an additional $15/day resort fee and $25/day parking. By the time you factor those additional fees, it would be the same price to stay at the Marriott, which is a lot nicer. (I'm not sure what the "resort fee" is for since this is a mediocre 3 star hotel and certainly not a resort) This hotel is aged and has certainly seen better days. My room had mysterious stains on the carpet and the ceiling, the wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom and the desk chair had a big tear in it. Certainly not what I expect when I'm being charged Marriott prices to stay somewhere. The positives: all of the staff were super nice, it is within walking distance to all of the major attractions, there is an Applebees attached which is convenient for breakfast.

toller Blick auf die Fälle

Posted 7-Oct-2016
Pros: Ausblick

Nice hotel close to the falls the view is fabulous

Posted 3-Oct-2016
Location: Casino, Clifton hill . the falls . indoor waterpark
We have stayed there before and the hotel is always clean the rooms are quite nice and the view if you get a fallsview room is amazing. The one thing I didn't like was after we had already prepaid for the hotel I still had to give them a credit card which they charged a fee of $200. for the room incase we did any damage and another $12.50 for I think a tourist tax (BS). they said that the $200 would be put back on my card if there was no damage but the $12.50 would be charged.

Nice hotel but not outstanding considering the $

Posted 2-Oct-2016
Pros: close to falls
Cons: Hospitally. Make u feel like they were happy u came.
Location: Near the falls and that made it nice. But they could have been more helpful. Used a Grayline tour and that was excellent and I would recommend them
why can't I use the whole space ?? view was not as advertised. upon arriving home I checked my reservation and discovered I paid for a Premier room,2 queen beds with sodabed, river view. What they gave me was room with 1 king and sofa bed and a not so great view- Too may trees and only on the 6th floor. Higher would have been better. I think their hospitably could have been better. $25 a day to park at your risk in their parking lot seems like a lot to me. No shuttle service except to their own restaurant. Meter parking is $5 per 30 minutes and a tourist tax besides of about 3%. It felt like a tourist trap. The main attractions were reasonably priced.
