The former home of the captain of the Maid of the Mist, Captain’s Quarters is like stepping back into the Arts and Crafts era of architecture, the original wood trim, arched entry to the dining room and the large windows all beautifully restored.
Our policies are intended to protect guests, as well as the homeowners, and our business from unforeseen circumstances that arise after booking. After the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, these are no longer extenuating circumstances as COVID-19 and its consequences are no longer unforeseen or unexpected. Please be sure to review the cancellation policy below. If you are unsure whether you will be able to travel, we ask that you wait until restrictions are lifted and you are sure that you will be able to travel on your chosen dates.***
The spacious covered front veranda with lots of seating can be enjoyed anytime of the year! This bungalow offers all accommodation available on one floor. The hardwood floors are gleaming and the grand gas fireplace is ideal for you to cozy around. The kitchen is still that mix of old and new, which lends to the charm but has all the modern conveniences of a renovated kitchen. This property features self-check-in, no keys required. Private parking for up to 3 cars included.
As you enter into Captains, the main common area has the living area, fireplace and television (WiFi and cable TV included). Off to the right is the dining area and kitchen equipped with microwave, flat top stove, dishwasher, drip-coffee maker, toaster, blender, kettle, dishes, pots and pans, silverware and glasses (including wine glasses). The kitchen is pre-stocked with salt and pepper, sugar packets, non-stick spray, paper towels, dish soap, tea towels, dish cloths and enough coffee and tea to get you started. The main floor laundry is located next to the kitchen supplied with laundry soap, stain remover and dryer sheets.
One bedroom with a queen bed is off the dining room. To the left of the common area is a hall way to the other two bedrooms and the common bathroom. The front bedroom is a queen bed with additional storage space. The common bathroom is between the two bedrooms and has a tub shower combination. The 3rd bedroom is to the back with a queen bed and ensuite with a walk in shower. Bedding, towels, hair dryers, facial and toilet tissue, shampoo and hand soap are provided.
Outside, relax on the generous front porch and watch the people and occasional horse and carriage pass by. Sit on the back patio while dinner cooks on the BBQ/grill or lounge in the sunshine of the back garden

Enhanced Cleaning and Safety Protocols during COVID-19
We have always held a high standard for our homes and the housekeeping staff and we want you to know what we are doing to keep our guests safe.
·Removal of extra blankets, pillows, and non-essential soft surface items (extra blankets will be wrapped in plastic in the closets in case of need) Guests are encouraged to bring their own pillow(s) and blankets (if they get easily chilled at night)
·Hand sanitizer pump at each property (70% alcohol)
·Disinfecting of soft surfaces with an alcohol based disinfectant
·Additional attention to disinfecting frequently touched surfaces like the keyless entry lock, remote controls, thermostat, knobs and pulls, laminated house instruction cards ("blue welcome card"), light switches, hangers, soap bottles, etc.
·Washing of all blankets after each reservation
·Disinfecting of the mattress, mattress cover, pillows and pillow protectors with alcohol based disinfectant
·Cleaning checklist signed off by the housekeeper after each clean

Niagara-on-the-lake was voted one of Canada’s prettiest little towns and is located just a short drive from Niagara Falls, along the scenic Niagara River Parkway. Niagara Holiday Rentals is a local short-term vacation rental management services company exclusive to Niagara-on-the-Lake!
Jason and Elsie Mae own and run Niagara Holiday Rentals that manages 25 vacation rental properties in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Started over 10 years ago, all our vacation homes and cottages are in Old Town, minutes from Queen Street.
We have been coming to Niagara-on-the-Lake since our honeymoon. A lot has changed, but we love it now more than ever. Jason is a real estate salesperson specializing in vacation, second home and investment properties. Elsie Mae is an accredited sommelier. She can let you know about the local wineries and wine industry. All guests of Niagara Holiday Rentals receive complimentary wine tasting and tour coupons for many of the local wineries.
We enjoy a variety of activities in Niagara-on-the-Lake, from the local wineries and craft breweries, to the Shaw Festival, as well as the parks and outdoor activities that the region has to offer.
The hiking and biking trails offer endless exploring, and kayaking on Lake Ontario and up the Niagara River provides a great opportunity to view the Toronto skyline and the historical homes along both the US and Canadian shorelines.
From world class live theatre, to golf, award-winning wineries and restaurants, and jet boat rides up the Niagara River … experiencing the Niagara region is not just about Niagara Falls!

All of the Niagara Holiday Rentals properties are licenced and insured as vacation rentals in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Niagara Holiday Rentals is registered with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario and complies with the Ontario Travel Regulations.
- The person who booked and paid is the primary guest and is responsible for the actions of other house guests. The primary guest must be staying for every night of the booking.
- For insurance purposes the primary guest must be 25 years or older.
- No more than 6 people including all children. Names of every house guest (including children) must be provided. This information is required to comply with the town by-laws.
- No overnight street parking is allowed in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- No smoking or vaping of tobacco, marijuana or any similar product whose use generates smoke or vapors within the house. Any lingering aromas or smells after your stay will result in additional cleaning charges.
- No pets allowed.
