The Mountain Escape just 2 miles from the lodge at Sunday River! This is a brand-new chalet style home. Open concept floorplan includes great room with wet bar, kitchen, and dining area. The king suite has double vanity and glass shower with dual showerheads. Bedrooms two and three, also on the upper level share a full bathroom. Each room has a queen bed. The lower level is where you will find the game room. This level also accommodates another full bath and bedrooms four and five. HOT TUB! The damage waiver fee of $150.00 is a non-refundable payment- which covers accidental damage up to the amount of $1500.00. This fee is processed in the overall costs of the rental at the time of booking. The damage waiver fee of $150.00 is a non-refundable payment- which covers accidental damage up to the amount of $1500.00. This fee is processed in the overall costs of the rental at the time of booking. Remember we are in the mountains of Maine and the snow we hope for all year can make travel more difficult. We recommend all or 4 wheel drive in the winter season. The roads and driveway are professionally maintained but guests may find travel difficult without it.

So close to skiing
We were 4 families staying at this beautiful home for our annual ski trip. The beds were extremely comfortable, the home felt like a perfect size for us (4 couples, 3 small kids). Everything was clean. Easy entrance. Clear rules for exit. About a 4 minute drive to Sunday River. Beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. There are stairs up and down in the middle of the house so would just have to block those for little ones. Had nice pots/pans. Had coffee filters and spices for coffee and cooking. Couch in basement was spacious and comfortable as well. Would definately recommend!

Perfect ski house
We loved this house. We had 10 adults and there was more than enough room. It was clean and cozy. It was also so nice to be so close to Sunday River. I would love to stay at this house again.

Great spot for summer hangouts too
This is probably thought of as a winter place for skiers and snowboarders but we just had a group of twelve late twenties / early thirties guys do a summer weekend here and we had a blast. The yard was great for games, the deck was awesome for spectating / trash talk, and between the grill and kitchen we had an easy time with food too. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Constructive Feedback
This property in Newry-Maine appears to be relatively new and the impression is that it might be more suitable for winter months than for the warmer season, especially because of lack of sufficient air circulation. There was a strong odor of wood when we entered the property and took a while to get used to it. Speaking of odor there was a stench of poultry in the lower level in and around the bedrooms and it stood steadfast and remained with us through our stay and refused to go away in spite of our best efforts to fan and freshen it away. The lack of air circulation felt in the house during the hotter months, could be because of the improper placement of windows that prevented the wind to blow from North and South through the property as it is located between two ridges, narrowly bounded and running along the east and west corridors of the Sunday River Valley, and of course not enough fans on the property compounded the issue. This property definitely needs ceiling fans in all bed rooms, as it felt like an oven in the night because of lack of adequate air circulation. We faced the issue of humongous flying bugs of the smaller variety, on the first day as we were not (made) aware of the level of flying bugs infestation in the area and also that we were not advised to open the windows and doors in the night (even with meshes, the bugs were unstoppable to any light in the premises) and dead bugs literally covered the kitchen floor and we could not locate vacuum and had to manually hand clean the floor - for some reason there was not expected level of response from the property management to our inquiries. The grounds around the lower level had a lot of broken glass (there was a notice posted - instead cleaning would have been better much appreciated and preferred) which was hazardous to people and cars alike and could have easily resulted in harm to the occupants one way or the other. The grill on the deck is another matter, as it did not have all four legs in alignment (and one was too short to lend any support), and was dirty at best and so we had to abandon any ideas of grilling. On the plus side there are a few interesting things to look around like one covered bridge, and a couple of waterfalls, decent views from the property and sufficient privacy.

Beautiful new house!
We stayed at this house for the holiday. There is nothing better than arriving back from a long and fun ski day to a new house that is 5 min away from the resort with a new jacuzzi, fully equipped, super comfortable and well designed. Thank you and we are planning to come back!
