We loved being able to walk over to the beach or ride the bikes to the pier for shopping and eating. Our beds were so comfortable. Dave was amazing at quick to respond to any questions we had. Love that they have multiple bikes, beach stuff, and even wetsuits for our use. The place was clean and cozy. The only “con” would be that they instruct the guest to do two loads of laundry before leaving. One for towels and one for bedding. We met Dave right away and he gave us a run down on all of the amenities; bikes, umbrellas, chairs, etc. He was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The house was super spacious and didn't have a bunch of clutter like some houses we've stayed at before. We appreciated this since we had our whole family with us and came with our own stuff. We loved the location - super close to the beach and walking distance to a few of our favorite restaurants. We will certainly be back! ##### Monica F. Across the street from the beach. Owner was very accommodating. We had everything we needed. My only complaint would be the noisy neighbors but that was expected and nothing to do with the property. (Young guys having a party a few doors down.) Overall, you can't beat the price for the location and size and accommodations of the property. I'd stay again! ##### Jessie A. Perfect location, steps from beach and a quick bike ride (bikes provided) from Boardwalk and Newport Pier. The house is in good shape, beds are comfy, and air mattresses help spread sleepers out. The only gripe is the carpet has seen better days. Dave was great and checkin/communication was quick and easy. He even went out and bought a new propane grill when we had trouble getting the old one lit! This place is a hidden gem and a tremendous value! ##### Chris R. My kids loved riding the bikes. So many beach toys for everyone. Kitchen had everything you needed to make family size meals. We grilled everyday with no issues. Laundry was a huge help. Otherwise we were comfortable. The spot is great and I just re-washed all the towels. If towels sit in the washer for a day and then they’re thrown in the washing machine they still don’t smell good. Silverware was limited. My own wetsuit was taken off my patio and the upstairs guests thought it was community property. I found the wetsuit before I left. Host was nice. ##### David P. Dave's house is a no frills home in a perfect location. The listing pictures are accurate. The home needs some maintenance and should get rid of the carpet, but I can overlook that for the price and the area. It's only one home from the beach and you can hear the waves from the large patio. It is walking/biking distance to the pier, restaurants (Zabb Thai lunch special!), grocery store, donuts, coffee, etc. It's an easy bike ride to Huntington Beach. The area is pretty quiet. The owner is a nice man. We brought our own bikes, so I can't speak to the condition of the bikes or other beach stuff he provides for free. Take note, the home across the street was just torn down, so expect some construction noise in front of the patio. I'd rent this home again. ##### Laura S. Carpet is pretty worn out and almost crunchy with bare feet. Holes in the walls, needs painting, bedroom door is delaminated, no ceiling fans, exterior holes in soffits/trim. It’s a perfect location and really needs new carpet or laminate, ceiling fans and some other inexpensive fixes that would make the rental far better. The great part was the location. One House from the beach. You could hear the waves. It was a quiet area. The house itself needs attention. The carpets are disgusting. I would not go there with a toddler. Bring shoes so you can wear inside otherwise your socks and feet will get dirty. Other minor things wrong. For example, were only four forks. We met the owner and he said he would look at the list of things that we left of things that were wrong and try and fix them. The owner was very nice. The property just needs attention. The bikes were great. There were wetsuits if we would’ve wanted to use them, all the beach equipment you want you want that was there. Very limited parking options which made the week pretty irritating. If you are able, only bring one vehicle. You’ll have a much nicer stay. That being said, we’re not city dwellers, so being in a crammed, busy place with zero personal space was way, way outside our comfort zone. Having nowhere to park was probably just our rural perspective, but it was most irritating. The only other negative is the bikes. While we very much appreciated having bikes available, the bikes were all broken and unsafe to ride. If you plan on riding bikes, which you 100% should because it’s a beautiful place to ride around, either bring your own or find some to rent. The bikes here are not really useable. Jan 17, 2025 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy Disliked: Cleanliness #### Pictures are accurate, you’re paying for access to the beach Ok so when I booked with all the great reviews I assumed the pictures were deceiving but they are accurate. The place is really close to the beach, like walk across the street and you’re there so that was really nice. Kitchen accommodations were pretty good. The major problems that I had were the cleanliness. Old stained carpet that really need a good clean and stains on the comforter in the master and what looked like blood on the pillow for the additional blow up bed. Parking is listed, what is not listed is that the owner needs access during the day from 9 am to 9 pm so you have to find somewhere on the busy streets, sometimes you can find one close sometimes not so much. The last thing I struggled with is the washer and dryer are shared with the owner and rental above so if you have laundry to do you have to stay close. Towels and sheets are supposed to be washed before you leave which one load to wash took an hour and a half so it’s pretty time consuming. All and all you are paying for access to the beach but if cleanliness and privacy are priority then this might not be the place for you. ##### Leah W.
