From a bygone era, brought up to date, for a more than comfortable and affordable stay. All the modern amenities. Laid my head and chillaxed at A Paradise Resort, overlooking the Muskegon River, while intermittently exploring the surrounding area of the Newaygo State Park, Hardy/Croton Damns, and hiking a section of the Dragon Tail Trail. You can also kayak and fish off the dock. It is a great location near hiking, food and a lovely little market about a mile from the resort. We stayed in one of the studios that was well equipped, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The resort is located on a bluff, overlooking the Muskegon River. Seating areas are positioned to enjoy the serenity of the landscape. The property is equipped with a dock that jetties out to the river, and there are kayaks available for use (accessories are in the shed). Use caution on the steps down to the dock. We had the opportunity to meet Melissa, the innkeeper. She was accommodating, knowledgeable, and responsive. The resort is located on the main road through the area, resulting in some road noise; additionally, the inn’s large backyard borders a neighboring house, but is separated with a privacy fence.
