the staff was very nice and pleasant . this is a brass tacks hotel in manhattan. but it is clean and really sufficient. centrally located. i was happy to get to the hotel and rest after a day of touring.

The pictures alluded to a nicer hotel—in reality, the exterior is in shambles. Room had broken AC unit. Overheard other patrons without hot water. There’s a fine if you bring food to your room. If you’re looking to sleep in a room that can be locked, that’s about all it is good for.

It was an adventure!
This hotel was in a fantastic location. Right across the street from Madison Square Garden. But the rooms were absolutely tiny and sharing a bathroom with an entire floor sucked. But if price and location are important to you, then this place is perfect!!

Good Value
For under $100 in NYC, it’s hard to beat. You just need to be realistic about what you’re getting. This is not a luxury hotel where you’ll want to stay in your room all day. However, if you just need a clean room to stay while visiting NYC, then it’s a good value. Watch Out: No elevator, do be prepared to close mb steps if you have heavy bags

Friendly Staff
Convenient location edge of Chelsea and Midtown. No parking facilities but did offer a discount coupon for a parking garage that was not near. Place is unkempt and old. Room was as expected of these type of hotels but it was very dirty. Underneath the bed you could see all kinds of old dust and garbage which could easily be vacuumed if the so decided to. Bring your own sheets and pillows I am pretty sure they were not changed from the last person who slept in the room. Shared bathroom was dirty and the shower had very little pressure with very little hot water. No control over the heat which was to high for 45 degrees outside...had to turn on the AC which thankfully worked.

You get what you pay for
I get it...you get what you pay for. Staff was super friendly so no complaints about that at all. The room was a decent size. There were stains on the blankets and stains on the couch and carpeting. Luckily I brought my own towel. The bathroom had cracked tiles, not that anyone would walk around barefoot, but definitely unsafe. The drain in the shower didn't work well. I will say the water was hot and the room temperature was nice and warm. The air conditioner in the window had a terrible cold draft, but thankfully the room was warm with the shades down. The bed was somewhat comfortable but the blanket didn't seem clean.

it was Cheap and close to megabus drop off. but one of the worst rooms i have ever stayed. small room, no food allowed to eat in room, and unclean shared bath room. I found blood stains on my towel, creepy and unsafe! i don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good for one or a hook up
Fast and efficient the only issue is that the bathroom is shared ' the free coffee and tea is not ready by 6am no tooth paste' tooth brush' soap or wash rag . You do getcale tv and wifi. I feel you get exactly whaf u pay for a decent hotel at a concenient location for a cheap price.

Great deal for a quick stay
The hotel was a great deal for a quick stay with kids. The room was spacious and slept 4 very comfortably. Not the cleanest or quietest stay in Chelsea, but great for the price. Check in was in a separate building next door and there is no elevator which would have been nice to know in advance. The kitchen was great to have and had coffee maker, microwave and fridge, dishes etc. which is great for saving money on meals. I would definitely stay again.

Do not spend your money on the 12 adult suite.
My stay was a total disappointment. I checked in and there was a leak in the ceiling and an unusual odor. Then to make it worse there were stains on the blankets. when we asked for new blankets, there were stains and iron burns on those blankets as well. There was a big bleach like stain on the couch. the refrigerator was dirty and barely got cold. the showers were very discolored and old. One of the bathrooms in my suite had a toilet that wouldn't flush and a sink that didn't work too well either. There was no heat in the room which was very inconvenient because it was early January when I stayed so the front desk had to bring up a space heater. Both day and night managers are extremely rude. You would think that with a hotel this horrible they would at least have some humility. There was a front desk girl that was really sweet and made the stay worth while, but other than that, for the price I paid, the room and service was horrible. The hotel has great potential but it needs serious renovations. If it didn't have all these flaws i would've loved it because its a really cute room. it has exposed brick and cute wallpaper and the beds are nice. also the suite was super spacious.

christmas night 2017
my first time in NY, and first time taking the train from NC to NY, train was a cool ride, will do it again, the hotel is a walking distance from the train station, i got to the hotel around 10pm, person on the from desk very nice guy , answered all my questions, easy booking, the room is like most people say, they are very small, but remember you are not paying for 5 stars, i and my son enjoy the room cleaness, the share bathroom was clean, and people that share the bathroom kept the bathroom clean, i will say if you dont mind small room for two people and you dont spend a lot of time inside the hotel, this is a great place and economic, 4 night for $$$ in NY you cant find a better deal. im looking forward to check it out again in july. Thanks to all the staffs

AVOID AT ALL COST!! DONT SPEND YOUR MOMEY HERE!!
DONT STAY HERE!! Drove 8 hours talked to multiple people day of about are reservation and then when we arrived at midnight they cancelled our room and left us out on the street to figure it out. Seriously stay some place else. Holiday inn express is right around the corner and it’s 10x nicer, cheaper, and won’t screw you.

Had reservations for New Years and knew that the site said this was a boutique hotel so I wasn’t expecting much. We had to arrive a day later than the reservation and I called to let them know so I could keep our reservations. Upon arriving, we were told that the only room they had were bunk beds not the queen we reserved. We went to the room and the door hits the bunk beds as you try to open it. The beds were the entire room there is no room for luggage and to even turn around. Take a look at the picture. Completely false advertising with the pictures they show on line and what they actually offer. We went to dinner came back and decided to get another room.

No way!!!
Only book if you don't mind sharing a bathroom/showers, only towels. No comfort, not quiet, not worth $$$@all, way to cold, they control heat! Food police will fine you if caught!! Friendly staff though. Cubicles, did I say not quiet, but if you don't care for any comfort or frills, and want to throw away $$ go for it!!

Surprisingly comfortable
Though I was not looking forward to sharing a bath, it is actually not connected to your room, but in the hallway. Over a day and a half, I saw no one else. However, the big bonus was the hospitality and helpfulness of the staff; I had several work related tasks to do (scanning, printing etc) and while this is not business hotel, they could not have been more helpful.

The city that never sleeps and you won't either
Located on busy 7th Ave. just blocks from Penn station. Room was street side so we heard honking of horns and sirens all night long. The windows were thin and a room air conditioning unit prevent one from closing completely allowing more noise to come into room. The room itself was big with private bathroom but paint was peeling off wall in bathroom, the doors paneling was coming off, and carpet was very dirty. Door had one lock, the "swing lock" had the swing part of it but did not have the piece on the door to attach it to. Would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend to anyone

Great location in NYC.
Hotel is in a great location and decently priced, especially for NYC. Upon arrival, room wasn't too clean (floors not vacuumed and one of the trash cans was full) but you get what you pay for. Overall I would recommend because of the great location and friendly/helpful staff!

Disgusting! Bugs, unswept room, rusty fixtures, broken and worn cabinets, the door handle actually came off the back door when we pulled it! Dirty shower! This place needs a total renovation! Save your $300 and go somewhere else!

Basic hotel close to Penn Station
I have just returned home from spending 6 nights at this hotel. I have to be honest I was dreading staying here going off past reviews. You get what you pay for. It is a budget hotel. It was clean and I found the staff very friendly. I had an issue with taps and they fixed it straight away. It is very close to the subway and not far away from all the usual attractions. I would stay here again. Just to recap if luxury you want you will have to pay more!! We slept here and was out from 8-8 so this was just what we wanted!! It was clean and comfortable.

Not worth it at any price
Online pictures and description highly misleading/incomplete. My room was 7 x 12 feet with only 10" of walkable space between bed and wall. Folding chair only, no desk or table. No phone in room. Old wallpaper with stains and holes. Dirt on carpet, who knows what on blankets (no bedspread). Old lumpy foam pillows. Two coat hangers in small hanging area (no closet). Shared bath down the hall, very dirty and old. No elevator, I had to walk up to fourth floor with luggage. Noisy even though fellow guests were considerate. I picked this hotel for its location near Penn Station (which was great), and to avoid high NYC holiday prices. HUGE mistake.

I will not advise for the hotel.
When i reached it took 15min to check in as system of internet was down past 2.30hrs n phone in the room no hot water for shower did not clean the room for the next day tray tabel broken what is shown in pic its not true will never go back.

Horrific
I would say nasty sums up the hotel on the whole. I check in and the customers in front of me are complaining of a mouse in their room. I probably should’ve run away then and there, however, I could not afford to spend any additional money. The surprises kept coming! Bathrooms reek, food under my bed (despite food being forbidden in rooms), tv remote was tossed under my bed, water stains on floor, broken lock on my door and handy man says “my manager told me not to put them on anymore..”, the white chair in my room was most definitely NOT white, paint chips on every surface. Etc etc etc. I wouldn’t recommend to even my arch nemesis.

Cool theme to the hotel and could not be in a more central location. Courtyard + games and fun artwork give it a really cool vibe. Would stay again and recommend, especially for the price!

My husband and I traveled with our 5 year old twins and babysitter for the NYC marathon and loved this hotel. The apartment setup was exactly what we needed and the location was wonderful and convenient. Comfortable, quiet, and very economical.

The men on the front desk were very helpful and the only redeeming feature of the hotel. I asked a girl to help with a key to the safe and also repairs to the door and she never responded. The place is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in.

You get what you pay for. If you book a cheaper/smaller room, expect to be sharing a bathroom with guests staying on the same floor as you. I was only staying overnight so it was convenient for me. However, if you’re not operating under a tight budget, I suggest spending your money elsewhere.

It was disappointing, but it's New York. For over $200, the door didn't close properly, the a/c was loud and prevented the window from opening, there was no hot water, it was quite dirty, there was no reading light, (only overhead) Quite disappointed.
