However, once we got there and reached out because we were freezing each night and asked if there were more blankets available, we received no response. We had to turn the heating unit there up to the max, 86 degrees, every night and wore our socks and day clothes over our pjs. I don't think the heating unit is in proper working order and the radiator foe the building seems to only be on in the daytime. The floors were like ice at night. ##### Lorry K. Minor issue last night of my stay with someone banging on the outside door and ringing buzzer. But I didn’t open up and they left. The neighbors on the block were sweet and friendly. My only feedback is that with some modest renovation, it would feel cleaner. I love the charm of the old building. The bathroom felt a little grimy - replacing flooring and toilet with newer fixtures would help. Behind the toilet was kind of…icky…but shower was clean. Hot water for days. Wood floors were clean. Bedding was clean and comfy and furniture was dust free. Over all, it was a great stay! ##### Cass C. We thought the lock on the door to the unit seemed a bit loose and the bathroom was a little bit dirty but the place was fine for our purposes. the kitchen sink faucet was also loose and it wasn’t able to regulate the temperature of the water. Host was quick to respond when needed and check in / out was a breeze. ##### GP M. This is a great area if you want to stay outside the city and catch a baseball game in Bronx and enjoy soul food. The apartment is very well equipped with good shower and comfortable bed. It was very quiet and has lots of stores nearby. The nearby subway station is also great and gives excellent access to the rest of New York City. The host was helpful and communicative. If like me you are flying into JFK you can save yourself money by catching the Airtrain to Howard Beach and then the A subway train all the way to the nearest subway - it’s a 10 minute walk from there to the apartment and it’s all level. There are steps up to the front door of the building. ##### Karen N.
