Poor experience from both the hotel and Hotels.com
Awful experience. Hotel renovations were overrunning when I arrived, so hotel was closed. Rudely and without proper explanation was forced to move to a completely different brand hotel, late at night without assistance. Zero compassion from the hotel, zero attempt to apologise, and zero compensation. A huge thumbs down from both the hotel itself, and Hotels.com, who didn't seem to understand or care about the situation either

This property is a disaster. They are currently under construction, everything is dusty. The lobby is a mess. When checking in we were told to go across the street to another hotel. When checking out they wanted to charge my credit card for a second time.

We booked our stay over a month ago. We arrived to check in and were told they had no rooms and sent us across the road to the Sheraton. I booked a room with 2 queen beds at this hotel but was given a room with two double beds without any compensation. And I was not notified of the move to a different hotel.

Check in took about 40 min We started the stay with a fire alarm based on someone overheating a coffee pot. Staff was in chaos and not working together as well as not helping customers with what was happening. We finally were helped and no one could see if rooms were cleaned or ready? (It’s 6pm). They had to go check the rooms to find one for us. Keys could not be made for the room. Someone let us in the room and told they should have the key maker fixed when we returned from dinner. They did. Noise from the bar went on until 4am and sounded like in was in our room. We were 15 floors up. Morning coffee was non existent, but waking across the street to the Sheridan was the place for coffee. Next stay will be Across the street at the Sheridan

Unfortunately when I arrived, the room was very dirty. Stains on the floor, hair (dog hair, people hair), and the room had a different type of order. Honestly I could go on and on but those were the main issues.

Do NOT book a room in this hotel. It is absolutely disgusting, unsanitary, has broken down equipment in and out of the room and has absolutely no service. It operates like a run down, seedy, dirty motel.

The room smelled like death and was super cold. The room was super tiny and located on a horrible location. I could not stay until the morning due to the tro being cold and not able to control the heat as the panel was turned off. The golfed smell like a nursing home where ppl have died and are lingering. Worst hotel ever! I could not sleep there over night due to the smell and the cold.

The front desk personnel was really sweet and accommodating. Unfortunately, my stay was very uncomfortable as lighting fixtures were broken, the ac/heating was not working, and there were empty cans and trash under my bed.

The peolpe were amazing always helpful and friendly. The room was extra small, dirty and the coffee pot did not work advertised a brewery attached to hotel. But was told its been closed for 2 yea rs. Under the bed was nasty there was a ponytail tholder. Pack of tissue, empty 2 liter bottle, and a used condom wrapper between bed snd windows

First the staff was NOT FRIENDLY. No greeting , they could not provide any information. I asked about the gym and amenities & no one knew if it was actually open. Finally someone opened it and it was 40degree inside. Sheets had spots. Of course no house keeping on site. The window in my room was broken and no one came to fix it. The pillows were 2 SMALL and flat (old) the showers had mold in the grout line. Just a nasty bad hotel. The outside is normal for NY. Also the restaurant closed due to covid issues but all restaurants near by are open.

I booked a king suite. 2 outlets did not work. None of the windows were able to close all the way. No refrigerator, as advertised in room description. No microwave. 2 lights did not work, making the room very dim and dangerous in the shower/bathroom. Lamp had 1 of 2 necessary light bulbs. That didn’t matter because the lamp itself did not turn on at all. Construction right outside window. Scaffolding next to window was swinging and banging against building every night. I was never made aware of the construction being done on the hotel during my stay. I found out at 7 AM when the construction workers began to work very loudly. Not only were there sounds of tools, banging, drilling, and sawing, but extremely loud music and yelling between the workers. Overall, the “King Suite” was not worth the price. I will never return to this hotel.

Broken light fixture over bed in first room. Light in bathroom burned out in two rooms.Trash and used cindom wrapper found under bed in second room. Stained bedding in first room. Security latches removed from doors allowing inadvertently double booked person to walk in on me and my 11 y.o. daughter. Engineer visited 2 days after initial request for repairs - looked at burned out ceiling lamp in bathroom and left never to be seen again. Will be terminating IHG hotel membership.

Bad Hotel Experience
The room/bathroom was very small. There was enough room to move around at all. The bed was hard and heard noise and sounds all night. Tv remote rarely worked, the room had cup in there that wasn’t enclosed in plastic. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. At check out they wasn’t able to give me a receipt. I will never stay in an Hotel IndI go again. This hotel should be rated a 1 star and not it’s current rating. As a military member I have been subject to some bad accommodations but this situation was bad.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location was perfect in downtown Brooklyn. Near all subway lines. And a lot of places to eat. I hope I can find a deal with the price on my next visit to NY.

This property got really mixed reviews on the internet so I was a little worried. The bottom line is that this is a no frills place to stay, with friendly staff, comfy beds and a great location. Was the room spotless? No. But the bed and bathroom looked cleaned. There is construction going on around the building so there is scaffolding but pretty much all of New York has scaffolding so… My only complaint is that there is a nightclub that operates on the weekends right across the street, the music kept me up but that’s not the hotels fault. I would recommend this place if you want a simple room with a great location.

There was a urine leak from THE CEILING. When i went to the lobby to get help they told me “ what do you want me to do” i have never been treated this poorly at a hotel EVER. they never cleaned my room for a whole week. Horrible place. They don't care about their customers. I had to use the bathroom in mcdonalds and i traveled with my kid. Worst hotel I have stayed in my life.

We checked in quite late due to our plane (severe delay). When we checked in, the front personnel (young female) was extremely rude when explaining about the security deposit. I stayed two nights and expected them to clean my room, but they did not. My TV also had an issue and was unable to use. I asked the front desk personnel (male) to send someone to fix it. He stated he will send someone to fix it, but not sure if they did or not. This hotel is in the middle of Brooklyn and was hoping that the hotel experience would be great. May have to consider other hotels.

Do not stay at this property. If you do, you'll be like me and stare wistfully at the Sheraton and Aloft hotels directly across the street. The $50 difference in rate is worth it for your sanity. The hotel is not deserving of the Hotel Indigo brand. The rooms look tired and have bad lighting. The laminate strips on the furniture and cabinets are peeling off, and the windows do a poor job of muffling the loud sounds from the street. The rooftop bar, Kimoto, across the street is the source of a lot of loud partygoers hanging out on the sidewalk until 4am. The front desk staff was not friendly and obviously gave off the impression they'd rather be someplace else. They *did* accommodate or move to another room when the heat in our original room didn't work. I was hoping for a slight upgrade, but the next room was exactly the same disheveled mess but with working heat. If you're expecting the bar and restaurant featured on the website to be open, forget about that because it's permanently closed due to Covid. As for other amenities like the workout room, I didn't even bother, but if you have a Planet Fitness membership, there's a location next door. Parking is relatively easy at the Icon garage one street over behind the Sheraton. Be prepared to get lost in the one-way streets around downtown Brooklyn and MetroTech. If you don't know the area, getting to the hotel and subsequently, the parking garage, can be incredibly difficult without GPS. Only stay here at half rate.

The Worst hotel in my life.
I booked a more expensive room with breakfast. However, hotel staff said the restaurant was closed after the pandemic. They told me that I didn't pay for breakfast and breakfast is free, but this is a lie. Hotels still sell more expensive rooms that include breakfast. I want to sue them.
