Great location and super family room

Posted 6-Apr-2016
Pros: Room, location, room tidy service, free coffee machine.
Cons: Bar staff and ambience
Location: roccos steakhouse next block amazing. Napolis 2 blocks N great for pizza. Essen amazing for breakfast/lunch. Plenty of good curries on Lexington ave.
Very plush hotel in an excellent location on Madison Avenue. The room (exec double) was generously proportioned for NYC, certainly comfortable for a family of 4. The room service was fast and efficient, and the room tidy service was fantastic. Came home every day to a room like new! Well done to the maids. Extras as always in NY were expensive (breakfast, drinks etc) although there were good touches like free coffee machine and boarding pass printing service in the business lounge and prompt delivery of ice to the room. Spent a fair bit of time in the bar each day while the kids were asleep, and found the bar staff inexplicably poor. With one of two exceptions, seemed wrapped up in their own conversations with colleagues rather than serving. My advice would be enjoy the excellent room, but eat and drink at one of the myriad excellent bars, steakhouses or breakfast/lunch stops in easy walking distance.

NY Experience

Posted 6-Apr-2016
Pros: Very convenient and overall a very nice hotel.
Cons: The door jam in our room's bathroom was worn extremely bad. It was very hard to shut the door in order to keep the door from swing open while in it.
Location: Brooklyn Bridge, 911 Memorial Museum, Eatily, art galleries, museums, lots of places to eat.
Visiting NY and Brooklyn is always a thrilling experience. We walk or take subway while basing our stay out of the Carlton Hotel. It is convenient and we typically extend are area from Central Park down to the shoreline opposite of Jersey, cross the Brooklyn Bridge into Gumbo and always visit the 911 Memorial Museum area.

Magical

Posted 28-Mar-2016
From the moment you walk in the door you know you've walked into something special. The warmth of the hotel and its staff over take you as you feel like you step back in time with the lovely renovated elegance. Our room was lovely and afforded a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. The concierge and staff couldn't have been more helpful with all of our needs.

Not a good experience.

Posted 18-Mar-2016
Room access cards didn't work twice. They finally had to change the lock tumbler and give me an actual key to access room. Lamps missing lightbulbs. Bathroom was dirty with cleaning liquid a over the toilet seat. Pedestal sinker with no counter area so had to keep toe tried in the bedroom on the desk. Access card to use elevator worked sporadically. Not a good experience overall.

地下鉄のアクセス最高

Posted 9-Mar-2016
Pros:

Otima Localização! Equipe atenciosa.

Posted 1-Mar-2016
Pros: Limpeza, conforto e privacidade

Good central hotel for exploring New York. Plenty

Posted 22-Feb-2016
We took two rooms in early Feb and were very happy with our choice. It was clean and tidy and the staff were polite and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows superb. Slept well every night, unusual when away from home. Bathroom was big enough for two to share and the two robes supplied saved room in the suitcase! Could not fault it, and I am fussy! Took my disinfectant wipes with me, as usual, and did not find a speck of dirt etc. We were well catered for.

Nice hotel but the bed was very uncomfortable

Posted 15-Feb-2016
Cons: better bed
they've done a great job rennovating this hotel and made it quite nice. Too bad that in the three years since I last stayed here I notice some wear and tear. Hallways are starting to look a little tired and the bed was very very uncomfortable.

Dear Guest, Sorry to read that you found the bed uncomfortable, we usually hear the opposite. Please note the hotel will undergo a full renovation later this year.

Location and price great

Posted 2-Feb-2016
The location and price of the hotel were good. The staff were not that friendly or helpful. This was noted on checking in (room with a view requested and not delivered) and check out. Bell hop rather pushy, guy cleaning the coffee machine reluctant to help. Hotel taxi to the airport a little more pricey than an uber/ taxi but service was good.

A Native Son's Return

It was an enjoyable stay! I stayed at The Carlton when I was working for New York Life on an annual basis. Now that I have retired, I still think that The Carlton is a great place to stay. The proximity to public transportation and the shopping venues in the immediate neighborhood and access to the Herald Square makes for nice walks to them in either the winter or summer months.
