Ponce de Leon Towers is a direct oceanfront complex with 62, 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium units with 8 floors. Though Ponce de Leon Towers sits on the driving section of New Smyrna's white, sandy beach, this oceanfront complex is just 100 yards from the car-free beach. Amenities include a seasonally heated pool, community room with pool table and ping pong table, shuffleboard courts, and bar-b-que area with gas grill. Located in the heart of our friendly little beach town, Ponce de Leon Towers is only minutes from all that New Smyrna Beach has to offer. This oceanfront complex is right next to the beautiful 27th Avenue Beachfront Park which is a 3.4-acre park including a boardwalk, basketball and racquetball courts, picnic area, pavilion, restrooms, and a children's playground. Across the street is a 7-11 walk-up restaurant serving tacos and ice cream! Within walking distance are Manny's Pizza and Chases on the Beach for oceanfront dining. It is within minutes of a shopping center with a Dollar General with a grocery, gym, several tasty restaurants, and a beachwear outlet. The Canaveral National Seashore, one of the finest national seashore parks in the country, is only minutes away and offers a 57,000 acres national park nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River. It also features one of the longest stretches of pristine beaches in the United States. It's a must-see! There is a charge for entry. Also within a short drive south is Bethune Park featuring a fishing pier, tennis, and basketball courts, beach volleyball court, and playground. Nearby JB's fish camp offers some of the best fresh seafood in town. Kayak rentals and paddle board tours are also available at JB's. Shopping and dining are a must while in New Smyrna Beach. One-of-a-kind restaurants and boutiques can be found within a short drive or bike ride to Flagler Avenue beachside as well as downtown Historic Canal Street across the bridge. Art galleries can be found throughout town making New Smyrna one of the best small art towns in the country. The Marine Discovery Center is nearby and has spent over 20 years informing guests about the amazing biodiversity of the Indian River Lagoon. They will provide those visiting the area with a first-hand look at the local wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, and pelicans! Surfing in New Smyrna Beach is some of the best in Florida. It has been recognized by National Geographic as "one of the world's top 20 surf towns" and offers some of the best swells on the east coast. Overall was nice but I do have a few requests and concerns, In my opinion, need some attention....... The living room furniture (chairs) were lawn chairs. Not really acceptable for a condo. We were very disappointed in this aspect. Each bathroom was only stocked with 2 rolls of toilet paper. That is really unfortunate when you have to go searching for toilet paper. The condo sleeps at least 7-8 for 7 days and only allowed 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. The gentleman at the desk told me they had been burnt before and all of it taken. Maybe the desk could keep a stock to replenish if needed. A 2 roll per bath allowance is ridiculous for 7 days. Customer service definitely needs attention. We checked in before 5:00\. Called as soon as we got there because the TV wouldn't come on. They said to reset and call back. WELL...at 5:05 I call back and no one answered and no call back. Called again Sat. night. Called again Sunday. Called again Monday. Every time they said they would put us on the work order and have someone call us. NOONE ever called. When I called Monday AGAIN we finally got someone there. Then 2 days later the other two TV's did the same thing. We are not sure what happened unless the wrong key was inadvertently hit on the remote. It took us two more days to get someone else in there just as before. One of the bedrooms was not even hooked to Spectrum. We wondered why the channels were different. Basically we went for 4 days without TV at one-two locations within the condo. When booking I made sure we would have TV for each sleeping area along with bed size we needed because everyone sleeps with the TV on. If the TV is going to be so complicated it looks like there could be instructions on how to reset the features to what is needed. A map of the area would be nice to know the location of the laundry and beach access. We did find laundry easily. But a code is required to access the gate to go to the beach. Finally a lady came out of her condo and told me what the code was so we could access the beach. All in all we had a great trip. But will definitely look more closely at the accommodations next time. You would think for the cost per week there would not be an issue of this nature. ##### Wilma V. But needs remodeling This condo is on the 6th floor with an excellent ocean view. The pool was great and there was easy access to the beach. The condo itself was incredibly outdated but I knew that from the pictures. However, what I did not know is that the queen bed in the guest room was very uncomfortable. And, some of the towels felt like sandpaper. If they want to continue to rent this property, they need to invest in a new bed and better towels, linens etc. ##### Michael T.
