Home is walking distance to Fairgrounds, Casino, City Park, famous restaurants like Cafe Degas, Lola's, Santa Fe, 1000 Figs, and iconic watering holes like Pal's Lounge, Liuzza's, and Deutches Haus Beer Hall. Quick Uber 1 mile to French Quarter. Start your mornings just one block away at the legendary CC's Coffee House featuring New Orlean's best Mardi Gras coffee and king cakes. Or walk to City Park for it's new Cafe Du Monde location with its famous beignets and chicory coffee. This newly remodeled home was built in the late 1800s as a classic "Shotgun" and later updated to provide three private bedrooms and two full baths. The original heart pine flooring has been beautifully restored throughout. Historic architectural attributes remain such as 12 ft high soaring ceilings, ornate millwork, stained glass, antique transom windows, aged hearths, and original solid oak 5 panel doors. Homes are no longer built with this level of artisanship. New gourmet chef's kitchen is a dream featuring all Viking 5 series professional appliances including 36" gas range and hood, huge 42" side by side refrigerator, drawer microwave, and dishwasher. Beautiful dining room includes Grange solid walnut furnishings from France. The primary bedroom suite has a queen sleigh bed and attached full bath. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both have queen beds. Guests compliment the quality and comfort of the beds for a good night's sleep. 2nd full bath is off the central hallway. Both bathrooms recently beautifully renovated. There are 3 wall mounted TVs with Cox cable TV service. Fast and reliable WIFI for streaming and Zoom. There is a comfortable work station armoire in the dining room if you need a desk and good lighting to catch up on work with your laptop. This faubourg (neighborhood) was the first French settlement in New Orleans. Nearby Cafe Degas is arguably the best French restaurant in New Orleans. On the banks of Bayou St. John, this neighborhood is known for its architecture, live music, lush parks, gorgeous waterways and fabulous cuisine. Clean, comfortable. Kitchen was large enough that multiple people could work on meal prep at once. High end appliances and the dishes, glassware and utensils are all in excellent conditions. Convenient to have a qasher and dryer on site. The shotgun style of the house is a great experience. Plenty of room so everyone could have space. The neighborhood is great with restaurants in walking distance. City Park was a great walk and has many things to do. The French Quarter is a short drive but consider Lyft or Uber as parking is not plentiful and the parking time limits are not great to deal with. Andrew and Lori provided everything we could have needed, including extra body wash, towels, laundry detergent, etc. the instructions they provided ahead of our stay were very comprehensive and accurate.We got to meet Lori and she was very nice and gave us some more info about the neighborhood. By the way, the neighborhood is nice and quiet and we walked to a number of the local restaurants and bars. Parking is available on the street and most of the time we did not have any issues parking right in front of the house. Spaces are “enforced” through neighborly agreement but as there are some other rentals on the street, not everyone honors the “reserved” spots. Even so, we only had an issue twice and that just meant parking 1/2 a block away. No big deal and did not in any way diminish our experience. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting NOLA, especially if being in the Mid-City/Bayou/Fairgrounds area is something they would like to do. It was also very easy to get around town from there. ##### Gabriel L. They also made several recommendations for restaurants snd music all of which we tried and loved. The property was even better the described or the pictures show. Clean doesn't say it well enough. Spotless, sparkling home with fresh crisp linens, fluffy huge towels and so comfortable. High ceilings, beautiful furnishings, whisper quiet air conditioning and convenience items like basics cleaning and consumable items, paper towels, trash bags well supplied. We traveled very early day and the host allowed us to make arrangements to stow our luggage so we could spend the day sightseeing ... they were so kind and helpful it was like traveling to stay with old friends. There was more than adequate parking and we were in proximity to all the french quarter offers but in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable and the soaking tub amazing after a long day the 2nd bathroom had a luxury, huge glassed in shower and towels were thick and plentiful. Laundry room was well stocked and so helpful to freshen all out items before packing for home. A lovely stay. Highly recommend and are planning to return and rebook in the fall 2024. ##### Robin M. This location was great as it was close to the airport, Canal Street, French Quarter, French Market and an area we were told about that in all my trips to New Orleans I had never heard about. If you like live music and a little more mature crowd visit Frenchmen Street. The house was homey and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The owners of the home were a pleasure to work with, very communicative and helpful in answering questions about the area. If you are visiting New Orleans I would recommend this home for your stay. ##### Michele R. Contacted host for lunch recommendation nearby as were arriving early and he immediately offered us an early check-in. East access with door code. House was even better than photos. Amazing kitchen with great appliances. We were in town for Tulane graduation and this was an easy 12minute Uber to both the college and French Quarter. Bedrooms very comfortable and so quiet - we all slept well. Bathrooms modern and spacious. Nice size dining table perfect for 4 of us. Living room could have used an extra chair - not a lot of room even with just 4 of us but that was such a non-issue when everything else was so comfortable and inviting. Hope we can book again for a family wedding next Spring. The house was perfect for our stay! It was the perfect location for Jazz Fest and we were able to walk to and from the festival every day. The house was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space for our group. Lori and Andrew were amazing hosts!
