Grande Dame in the Lower Garden
Great stay and loved the Lower Garden. The Queen Anne is a grand dame, so if that’s your style it’s perfect. I loved the large room snd kitchenette w fridge, micro, coffee maker, (dishes, not paper) a dining table and desk!

Beautiful old home conveniently located one block from the St. Charles streetcar line. Comfortable, spacious room with working microwave, fridge, and good WiFi. Felt safe on property, but security measures tell the tale of the relative safety of the area. Not quite as clean as I would have liked but would stay there again.

Thank you David- we do strive to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable. Most respectful and responsible hotel provides Security. Not only for the safety of our guests, but also our staff. If you stay in a hotel in the suburbs, you may not see as much emphasis on hotel security, but within City limits of a major metropolitan city such as New Orleans, it’s a typical sight. I am glad you enjoyed your stay in New Orleans and we do hope to see you again!

The Queen Anne is a stately old home converted to a hotel. It is located in the Lower Garden District. Check-in is in the Prytania Park Hotel a block away. I was greeted by the very friendly hotel manager, who explained that the Queen Anne had very limited parking (two spaces as it turned out) but that Prytania Park had plenty of free parking. We drove around to the Queen Anne and were able to park there. The room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The grounds were lovely. My wife and I sat out there and had a class of wine, which we brought, there is no bar or restaurant in the Queen Anne. We had dinner at a very nice restaurant two blocks away on St. Charles Street and breakfast at an old favorite about four blocks away. It was a very pleasant stay at a good price, especially with the free parking.

Awesome classic building but misleading pictures
The good: Classic and beautiful building, worth staying for the experience. Very convenient location, in the heart of the city, within walking distance from places to hang out or visit and close to the streetcar line. They had free parking, which is hard to find in New Orleans. The bad: The AC is central and you don't have any control. It went very hot and felt like I couldn't breathe at moments. Breakfast was limited and I had to sit outside in the cold. The ugly: I got a room that was much narrower and darker than what the pictures suggested. I guess all rooms are different but that was a let-down.

Nice couples hotel
So this was a unique hotel that very much embodied the New Orleans spirit. It had a nice romantic charm. Unfortunately, I was in town for business. I picked the hotel because it was close to where I was working and was at the right price point. It had a great bed. But only one chair and no table or desk. The shower was a bit disappointing. I think this would be a great hotel for a romantic getaway.

Beautiful 1890s mansion! Yes there is some wear and tear but that's to be expected with the building's age. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Would definitely want to stay here the next time we are back in New Orleans.

The property was in a unique stately home with tall ceilings. Parking was a plus. Breakfast was put together by six-year olds. Hot water ran out quickly. Location was excellent.

Thank you Michael for your review. We appreciate the feedback, but I must say, if breakfast was put together by a 6 year old as you claim, I applaud their efforts as it is quite extensive, and set up in an orderly fashion. As to hot water running out, that is something we never have had a problem with as we have 2 rapid recovery commercial hot water tanks that hold 500 gallons each, plus a recycle booster throughout the property. I will certainly look into this. Perhaps the hot and cold water shower valves in the room you occupied needs to be inspected inside the mechanism. Possibly more cold water was coming in than hot . Again, I thanks you for the feedback.

Dear Robert, I apologize for the "fine print" details on where to register.that is shown on the Confirmation letter you rece'd from the 3rd party you booked with. we have no control over their content placement. I hope the free upgrade to a King room was a pleasant surprise as the reservation came over for a Queen room, as we were oversold on Queen so I chose you to upgrade.. The rates were elevated because of a City Wide medical convention dicatated demand. Perhaps, you can come back another time when it is not such a busy weekend and experience a different room in the Mansion, we have 12 rooms, all different.. Have a wonderful holiday season, and stay well. I remain, in best regards,

For the price, I don't think it could be better. Loved the old architecture, furniture, decor. Breakfast was ordinary but included, and the coffee wasn't bad. The room was comfortable and spacious. Amenities all worked. One piece of constructive feedback is that the rug needed cleaning pretty badly.

Reviews mentioned the multi buildings, but when the cab arrived at the property, it was impossible to find the main office. We had to call to find it. The property I was in was pretty, but no street lighting and the sidewalk was dangerous. I felt so unsafe I moved to a different property the next morning. Rooms are musky, wallpaper peeling, headboard stained. When my card key didn't work, there was no one behind the desk to assist. Had to wait over 20 minutes and call.

First the good things. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Now the bad stuff. The parking, office and breakfast (which was very minimal) was 1 1/2 blocks away from the room. The room was on the second floor with no elevator and the room itself was much smaller than that pictured on the website. the room was in disrepair, with low water pressure, a lumpy mattress, battered furniture and a burned out lightbulb in the bathroom. The room keys kept de-magnitizing, making me take a 3 block walk roundtrip to the office for new keys more than once. This property was relatively expensive and I cannot recommend it.

Dear Michael, I am glad you found the room clean and staff friendly. That is very important to any hotel. As to your bad items, I am sorry for details you may have overlooked when making the reservation. Certainly it was not misleading from the website you booked from clearly states registration and parking details. It also states we serve a expanded continental breakfast. Std continental is coffee/juice and breakfast pastries. We serve quite a bit more than the industry standard. We serve the standard plus 2 cold cereals, 2 hot cereals, yogurt varieties, fruit cup varieties. It is a ample selection for the get up and go breakfast. We never stated we serve a full breakfast fare. As to the keys demagnetized issue, that can happen with any hotel when key card is not carried in the protection envelope that is issued at check in. Electronic locks digital keys are sensitive to cell phones. So when placed in your pocket with the phone, key cards can and do demagnetize. Low water pressure is a problem with New Orleans currently as the City is struggling with infrastructure repairs to correct 200 year old pipes. Lumpy mattress, we can certainly look into replacing it, ; we were unaware of this as prior guests in that room did not complain. All light bulbs are checked prior to new check ins. Bulbs do burn out without notice, just like in your own home. It was replaced immediately once you advised. Perhaps you missed the fine print on the website and the confirmation letter your booking site sent you. And the price was slightly elevated due to the City Wide Special Event while you were a guest. But in comparison to other small boutique hotels in our area, we were less than most if not the same rate.

Not worth the good price
I was hoping for a romantic time, but it was less than desirable. The property grounds are nice, but the surrounding neighborhood is pretty sketchy and our room faced the street and there was a lot of car noise. I let the customer service people know about the cobwebs and spiders up on the ceiling and the broken toilet handle, but nothing happened. A pretty meager breakfast was served on the walkway outside between buildings. The good is free and safe parking, and other than the 8 legged friends up there, the room and bathroom was clean.
Stayed 5 nights in Mar 2022
Response from Dori. GM on Apr 4, 2022
I am so sorry for the 2 cobwebs. It was an oversight when we deep cleaned the rooms. We came up to take care it it the next morning since you checked in after housekeeping had left for the day. We also adjusted and tighten the toilet handle. The mechanism was loose inside the tank. As our marketing pictures show, all the rooms in the Queen Anne face the street as the mansion is on a corner, and once was a private home. Your rooms was on the 3rd floor which should have lessened the noise level a great deal. Breakfast is served is the courtyard of our sister property. Most guests enjoy sitting outside as it is not often that one can do that in their own hometowns this time of the year. We serve an expanded continental fare. We never state we serve a full breakfast. Continental is typically coffee juice and breakfast breads. We include 2 cold cereals, 2 hot be it grits and oatmeal, we serve yogurt varieties, fruit cup varieties, english muffins with jams/jellies and butter., along with a honey nut granola to add to any of the above. Again, I do apologize for the spider webs.

Wonderful old home that needs a little TLC and upgrades, new paint, wallpaper, etc. The bathroom was clean and the bedroom itself was clean for the most part but a few cobwebs on the high ceiling and dirty vents. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The office was not close. Luckily we ran into another guest who was very kind and showed us where it was. Office staff was very nice and there was free parking.

Dear Lisa, we will be doing “ freshening up” projects this year as revenue stream returns. Not having revenue for nearly 2 years has certainly put any capital improvements on hold. I do apologize for the cob webs. It was an oversight when we deep cleaned the room. Our hotel office is where you registered, 1 block down, less than a 2 minute walk and is noted on the website and confirmation letter you received from your booking site online . Perhaps you overlooked it in the fine print. We can’t control how online sites format and show our details. I am glad to know you enjoyed your stay otherwise. I was the staff member who registered you upon arrival.

Had an overall nice stay for a wedding over the weekend. Front desk staff was wonderful for our check in late Friday night and helped us navigate to them due to many roads being closed for Mardi Gras parades. Room was clean and bed was comfy. We felt safe walking everywhere we needed to go, mostly downtown near Bourbon Street. Walk was around 30 min. Must not have read the description closely enough, though, because we expected a BnB type experience with breakfast. But apparently due to Covid, only grab and go items were offered for breakfast and it was pretty pathetic-cereal, some toast, yogurt, oatmeal/grits packets, fruit cups, and yogurt. Quite disappointing.

Queen Anne's was a nice stay in the Garden District. It's located a block down from the main hotel, so expect a short walk to your room. The sidewalks are in great need of repair. We enjoyed the room. Our room was close to the ice machine which was a bit loud.
Stayed 2 nights in Nov 2021
Response from Dori. GM on Nov 29, 2021
Thank you for your review. Yes, the sidewalks need repair. 98% of the sidewalks in New Orleans need repairs, as most of our streets do too. Because we are below sea level, there is a great deal of sinking among the sidewalks and streets. Then with the huge live oak trees that line the sidewalks, root systems growing underground push sidewalks and streets upwards. Between the 2 issues, it does cause some a wee bit of difficulty in walking most anywhere in the City. I will check out the Ice machine to see if there’s a mechanism that needs adjustment. I appreciate you advising. Take care

Romantic Step Back in Time
It was like going back in time to grand antebellum society life with its 16’ ceilings and period furniture. Everything felt perfect from the sweet blooming gardenias outside to the roomy comfort of the main floor suite we stayed in. The office is located in another hotel nearby which requires a walk through a seedy looking neighborhood but we really enjoyed the restaurant next door, Lula’s.

The check-in process was a bit confusing as the building we stayed in was not the building where we checked in. Once we figured out where we needed to be, the process was very smooth. The check-in location and the actual building we stayed in were very close together (within 1 block). The website was not very clear that there was parking available at the check-in location. We thought we'd have to park on the street; however, we did not. A local was very helpful in making sure we knew where we needed to go.

Well Mr Anonymous, I am so sorry you feel this way and there is no reason to hide behind anonymity. I know exactly who you are based upon your last sentence. The issue stems more from you not reading the confirmation letter. The Expedia site you booked from and the confirmation letter you received from them advises registration is at a different address as you chose to book at this property than at the main hotel . You booked a room as part of a collection of 3 hotels in the 1 block. The staff is all centralized at the main hotel. Your last comment is completely based upon your frustration and anger for not reading your confirmation letter when it was pointed out to you when you checked in with my Front Desk .
