Our property is totally gated and is in one of the nicest residential areas in New Orleans. We comply with all of the requirements and restrictions set by the Short Term Rental Administration of the City. Owner license number 20-RSTR-00355. Operator license number 23-0STR-01882. We have also been approved as a Healthy Home by the City of New Orleans. We have no contact check in and keyless entry. We also set aside a full day between guest to allow for deep cleaning. The cottage is located behind our Vieux Carre style home. Upon your arrival you can relax and plan your New Orleans visit in your cozy cottage and private patio. Enjoy a welcome wine basket with local delicacies. The Cottage is located in one of the nicest residential sections of New Orleans. It is a quiet neighborhood away from the crowds and noise. We are very convenient to our 1300 acre City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Arts, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden and the New New Orleans Municipal Bayou Oaks Course with two 18 hole golf courses. You are centrally located to the best of the City within walking distance to Lake Pontchartrain and an inexpensive Uber ride or public transportation to the French Quarter.. Coffee shops, wine bars, Seafood, Mexican, Asian and Creole restaurants are very close; or, relax and barbecue on your private deck.There are a total of 32 restaurants, two local supermarkets and four banks within a mile radius of our home. But, don't rush - we have provided basic breakfast items (fruit juice, coffee, milk, cereal, yogurt, bread and butter) for your first morning leisure enjoyment. The inside of the Guest Cottage was recently remodeled with hardwood floors in living/dining, new stainless appliances including ice maker refrigerator and granite countertops in kitchen. Separate bedroom with queen size bed and large bath with built-in make up table. The garden area is such a beautiful, relaxing spot. From the perfect plantings to the wonderfully peaceful water features. Plus there was a private garden in the rear of the cottage just for us! The cottage was perfect! Very comfortable furnishings and lovely decor and very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped if you should want to cook. The neighborhood is very quiet. It is a nice walk straight to Lake Pontchartrain. We were surprised to see so many things in the refrigerator for our first breakfast there. It was our 40th anniversary and we were greeted with a Happy Anniversary sign as we entered the garden. Plus there was a bottle of chilled champagne in the refrigerator and bottle of wine at the dining table. Susan and Eldon were wonderful hosts. The cottage location is an easy, less than 20 minute drive into New Orleans. We are already talking about when we will return to this great area and and peaceful cottage. ##### Emelia Z. All the added little touches - the coffee, tea, snacks and drinks in the fridge, the New Orleans special treats, the welcome letter from Susan and Eldon, and the beautiful outdoor areas - made this cottage the most wonderful place we have ever stayed. The bed was very comfortable, as well as the comfort of the furnishings. I could have stayed for weeks! Very easy to get to, really liked the boulevards! Great food within the area. The cottage was full of decorative touch that distinguished it from other properties we've stayed in. Relaxing way to end the day with a beautiful, relaxing neighborhood away from the crazy of downtown. Space was clean, cute and filled with thoughtful extras. Susan and Eldon are the most gracious hosts. They left some basic item in the fridge to make us feel welcome (juice, water, yogurt, soda, bread, eggs , and more). Then they also left us some yummy snacks to try. The home was clean and warm and inviting. And their backyard garden is like a Monet painting. A welcome sign with our names greeted us and that was just the first of many surprises! Champagne, wine, cheese, pralines and more along with breakfast items and many other treats were laid our for our pleasure, A comprehensive list of local eateries was provided along with maps and informations on New Orleans sites. Check in was easy and Susan and Eldon checked in with us to see if there was anything else we needed. Because of the 100 year snow storm, our dates were changed at no charge, Susan kept us posted prior to arrival as to road conditions. What a joy to arrive at this adorable home away from home. As an artist, I loved the collection of art work and the amazing photographs. Even with the snow damage, my partner thoroughly enjoyed all the landscaping treats surrounding the cottage.
