It’s a quick trip to the French Quarter, Bourbon St, and over to the Westbank. We used to live in Gretna back in 2008 so it was nice to be pretty central to everything. Unfortunately the reviews about the area, that I read prior to my stay, were not wrong. The neighborhood is not walkable at night and is run-down. Neighbors across the street let their dogs bark at all hours, which is not the owner’s fault, of this property, but not ideal at 6 am. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was quiet otherwise. But, the street the house is located on is not worth the stay. I woke up one morning to the sound of both dogs barking and sheep. I don’t recall reading it was on the second floor. The dishwasher was broken. There was no rack to allow dishes to dry since we had to hand wash them. The next day when the cleaning agent scent wore off, it was replaced with the scent of dogs. The neighbors were nice but the neighborhood was scary with potholes that could damage a car.
