The NOLA JW for several years now has been my favorite place to stay while visiting the city. However, this was possibly my last stay there. The hotel over all is up to par, but the staff seemed limited and overwhelmed at check in. The valet was hard to locate most times at checking my vehicle in/out. Safety is important in New Orleans and the motor court area is well lit and does have someone on the area at night. The front entrance on Canal St. is not well lit and there is no security or doorman there. So there is a slight rush to use the keycard to gain entry. The rooms are average: need dusting of furniture and cleaning of mirrors, showers, and toilets. This stay the toilet had rust around the bottom and the shower stall floor seemed dirty. There were limited towels, no coffee cups the first day, and a musty scent in the room. It didn’t smell fresh or really cleaned. The window sills were damaged also. And the tv had another guest’s name on the display for my entire stay. When I inquired about this I was told it was probably the previous guest and the name would go away, it never did.

The location was great and convenient hotel was elegantly decorated. I did not like that there was some construction going on in the room above us it was a bit noisy. Otherwise it was a great stay, will be back again!

I didn’t understand what the destination fee was for just to get what they say is a $20.00 credit for each day you’re there to put towards purchases at the hotel. Puzzling! I feel I just got got!

Not the most inexpensive hotel in the area. However it is worth every penny. Hotel decor is very luxurious. Rooms are excellent with comfortable large beds. Staff is the best part. From valet, front desk, housekeeping to the restaurant and bar staff are excellent at their jobs. Extremely polite and professional and yet I felt like they were giving me very personal service. Location is perfect.
