Upon arrival at this hotel there was only one desk clerk for check in & she was taking a very long time with her current guest, but I was next so no problem. Shortly another desk person arrived and assisted me to check in; she was very nice, professional, and told me some very pertinent information which was very helpful. I purchased a soft drink from the nearby self serve mini market with my room key and went to my room.
Later in the evening I went down to get another soft drink but the self check out kept saying the key and room information were incorrect and would not allow the purchase. There is no concierge at 7:00pm so I asked the front desk. They were overwhelmed with people checking in and would not assist me unless I waited at the rear of the line for a turn at the desk. That’s fine for an average hotel, but for a room that is $300 (including taxes)/night I expected a little service with that. Maybe I expected too much, but I just wanted a Coke Zero and to return to my room….is that asking too much????
There are lots of hotels in this area of New Orleans and perhaps I should stay elsewhere next time….I hate to say it but this looks to be a one and done.
And now that I think about it, the Expedia telephone rep actually argued with me that I should have expected to stand in a queue of a dozen guests checking in to get a Coke since my room key wouldn’t work in the market…..I thought he was on my side….might need to rethink Expedia too??🤔
