The property is located in a convenient area of the French Quarter. However, not every room in the Courtyard. Some of the rooms are directly on the street. As for our room # 203, neither the shutters nor door to the room closed completely. The hinges to the door are literally falling off of the door the indoor latch was completely mission. Causing the shutter to be ajar at night or when you are not in the room.
The shutter and door issue was called to the attention of the gentleman at the front desk and he mentioned that “they” were aware of it.
My translation: “They” were aware that there was not just a safety hazard and a security issues, but were not doing anything to address it.” In my opinion, a trip to the hardware store and 2 hours of work could have taken care of it.
I do think that it should be clearly stated that not all rooms are in the courtyard and that some, such as room 203 open directly to the street.
I did ask to be moved to another room and was told that the room type that we paid for was not available to us.
A last matter was the bed sheets. The were wine stains on the sheets. Fortunately, when we returned to the room the sheets were changed.
Great location. Great price. Much needed TLC.
