The location is in a perfect area.

Posted 6-Apr-2016
Pros: The hotel was close to things we were interested in. Had to use your room key to use the elevators. Felt safe!
Cons: Person cleaning the room did not speak English. She was asked to throw an empty container away when she emptied the trash. It didn't get done.
Location: Shopping, site seeing, tours, food
Able to access public transportation. Desk staff very pleasant and knowledgeable of the area about things to do and see.

Nice hotel good proximity to the French Quarter.

Posted 3-Apr-2016
The check in was quick and easy. The room was larger than expected. The bathroom was big and private. Although the hotel was booked to capacity , it seemed quiet. Breakfast was definitely a bonus. Since the booking was handled through Expedia, checking out was very quick.

Family of 4 - including teens

Posted 21-Mar-2016
Pros: The room size was quite large - location of building (business area - not loud party goers). Breakfast was typical free hotel breakfast.
Cons: The rooms are not as sound proof as I would like - gaps under doors. If you turn your AC fan to high position it drowns out most of the sounds.
Location: Location was in the business district - which was nice and quiet and safe. But short block away was Canal street and of course Bourbon st.
We had a nice Spring Break. We had no problems with our hotel. The room was nice, large, clean. You could hear your neighbors a bit so to drown out their noise just turn the AC fan on high - then no problem. The location was fine for us - it was close to canal st. and bourbon street - but not too close. I did hear one teen complain that there was not a pool at this hotel. We didn't notice bc we were there to see the city and eat! I would recommend the Creole Queen history cruise - with coupon only $23 a person. The cruise picks up twice a day and lasts 2 hours. They pick up on the dock close to Polydras street (behind Hilton). The cruise tells you the history of New Orleans and the battle of New Orleans until you get to a battlefield national park and you get off and walk around listening to park rangers tell the story of the battle (15 min) if you want to listen - otherwise just explore the grounds. Then get back on the boat and cruise back to the dock and hear the story of Katrina as you pass Lower ninth ward and see blue tarped buildings. Drinks and food sold on board if you get hungry or thirsty. Well worth your time. Wonderful food- "Mothers", Tableau, Grand Isle and St. James Cheese Shop, Muriels and Johnny's po boy.

French quarter

Nice facility in an historic building

Posted 15-Mar-2016
Pros: Nice amenities, good breakfast. Staff was very helpful.
Cons: Elevators need maintenance. There should be a restroom adjacent to the workout facility. Awkward!
Location: Walkable (0.4 miles) from the riverfront and close to Canal Street for shopping and walking.
A bit far from the "action" of the central business district and Vieux Carre, but a grande dame of a hotel. Historic property and quiet. We found the layout a bit confusing (needed the signs to find our room). A couple of the elevators needed some help (doors didn't open all the way). Because it's New Orleans, security was high -- you need a key to go anywhere besides the lobby. Breakfast as always was good and the room layout was good. We found the valet parking fees a bit outrageous ($42 a night), but otherwise would recommend this for those who like the Hampton Inns. There are more convenient hotels in this price range for people who want to be closer to the Convention Center or the French Quarter.

Nice hotel close to French Quarter

Posted 9-Mar-2016
Cons: The water pressure in the shower was low.
This hotel was the high quality, dependable experience I expect from Hampton Inn hotels. I appreciate it's walkability from the French Quarter and also to a conference at a nearby hotel. You used your room key to use the elevator which added a little more security.
