Family of 4 - including teens
We had a nice Spring Break. We had no problems with our hotel. The room was nice, large, clean. You could hear your neighbors a bit so to drown out their noise just turn the AC fan on high - then no problem. The location was fine for us - it was close to canal st. and bourbon street - but not too close.
I did hear one teen complain that there was not a pool at this hotel. We didn't notice bc we were there to see the city and eat!
I would recommend the Creole Queen history cruise - with coupon only $23 a person. The cruise picks up twice a day and lasts 2 hours. They pick up on the dock close to Polydras street (behind Hilton). The cruise tells you the history of New Orleans and the battle of New Orleans until you get to a battlefield national park and you get off and walk around listening to park rangers tell the story of the battle (15 min) if you want to listen - otherwise just explore the grounds. Then get back on the boat and cruise back to the dock and hear the story of Katrina as you pass Lower ninth ward and see blue tarped buildings. Drinks and food sold on board if you get hungry or thirsty. Well worth your time.
Wonderful food- "Mothers", Tableau, Grand Isle and St. James Cheese Shop, Muriels and Johnny's po boy.
