Outstanding Colonial accommodation
A fantastic place to stay. Real Colonial Tasmania. 1835. Beautifully maintained, very comfortable, step back in time, great location, & delicious continental breakfast. Loved staying there. Highly recommend. True taste of Tasmania’s past. Would definitely stay there again.

Olde worlde
An interesting building. It is a bed and breakfast run by an elderly couple. The building is one of the oldest in the town. The place was full of all sorts of collectibles mainly china but some interesting pictures. It is just a short walk from the town centre and a pub with food just slong the road.

Nice and helpful staff. Very quaint hotel and worth staying at. Only one issue _ room was very clattered . It needed less furniture and artefacts and it would still be very much in character.

Quaint old world B and B. Owner very accommodating, room a little crowded. Breakfast provisions lovely. The cleaner obviosly forgot to clean the toilet and it needed a little extra TLC.

Antique and homey
The Colonial Inn was full of antiques and old stuff. The room was quite cluttered and very hard to open the small window for fresh air, the bathroom window was painted in. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and newish with the shower hot. The breakfast was cereals and quite sufficient. The hostess was lovely and chatty. It wasn’t our type of place with the antiques and cluttered furniture but otherwise very convenient to the town for dinner and a base for exploring.

Not many places like this in Australia. A historic inn with only 4 rooms but with all the facilities that are needed for a comfortable stay. Very comfortable bed. Walking distance to town centre and dinner options. Good breakfast with excellent coffee.

Best choice of stay I’ve made
The Inn exudes old world charm and this is backed up with old school, personal service and hospitality. Close to town centre and to the Derwent river bank views and walks. You won’t do better in New Norfolk.

Old Colony Inn
Very quaint establishment. Building is 200 years old and while the rooms reflect a bygone era they are clean and comfortable with updated bathrooms. Our host was friendly and professional and we enjoyed conversation with her. There was minor traffic noise as our room was closet to the road but really not a problem. The very reasonable tariff included a light but plentiful breakfast. Happy to recommend.

A comfortable historical inn
This inn is more then meets the eye. The owners also have been collecting prices of history and the 5 rooms on the ground floor are filled with fascinating items that they were happy for us to look thru. The accommodation upstairs is old world charm befitting the era. The beds were very comfortable with fluffy doonas. Lots of hot water for showering. The breakfast was very generousl with homemade jams. Even though we elected to walk to the pub, Lydia offered us dinner, which on reflection was an excellent option.

Dinner was reasonably priced and very tasty. Wine and Beers also well priced with a nice selection. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely old inn with a difference
1830's vintage inn converted from a hop storage building with 3 foot thick walls! Lovely rooms / suites with antique but functional furniture (not the bed! very comfortable!). Lovely hostess with great meals - especially the lamb shanks.. Garden grown veggies and good sized meals. The antiques are very interesting and the village is quiet and surrounded by country in which hops are grown. Great base for sightseeing, fishing or wild hop hunting. Short and picturesque trip over the hills to Mona, around the highways to Bruny Island and short trip to Salmon Ponds. Everywhere is within reach if you hire a car...Eat at the inn - it is a great place to meet people of all ages, or to have a quiet evening.

A Piece of old time magic
Built in the early 1800's and lovingly restored, This was a visit year into history, From a continental breakfast left in your room containing a more than generous range of items, served on fine old bone china plates and tea service it left nothing to be desired. If you like old world stuff this is a place to place on your list of places to stay

Hotel review
Colonial style hotel. My room is upstairs the last one. Room was small with 2 people finding hard to move around. However the room was very clean and the owner lady was wonderful to deal with. Price was reasonable with breakfast included. Owner also provided port and a very nice fruit platter. We had a very pleasant stay.

Fascinating old building
An overnight stay on the way to Hobart. Excellent value and we were moved to a larger room. Unfortunately, the host had injured her arm and so breakfast was served in the room but plenty of food and it suited us as we needed to leave early. Restaurant closed as it was the night before Australia Day but the local pub has an excellent Bistro and we were offered a light meal in the hotel if we could not find anything else in town.

It is a room in an old house in good condition. The whole place is decorated and has an old style. Very nice. The room was big but full of decorative objects. Lots of pillows on the bed plus a doll. The host is a very warm and nice old lady. We enjoyed our stay.

Ok B&B If you like clutter
Friendly owners, but the place had too much stuff. It was old and dark and could need some updating. Bathroom was large and clean and had good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast supplies were provided, but because of the condition of the room we did not fully use. Had several portraits in the bedroom that were kind of freaky.a
