From the cabin, you'll be treated to a stunning vista that includes a clear view of Mt. Jackson! If you know what you’re looking for, you can even spot the charming Apple Basket water tower of Mt. Jackson. You will be situated on 6 acres of private land in the woods to explore at your leisure. There are a few walking paths emerging from previous ‘explorers’ but most of the land and woods are natural and unshaped by man. If you like to tromp around and explore in the woods, this is the perfect spot. Just beware, a good part of the land is on a slope. Nothing too treacherous, just some caution required. The cabin is nestled in the beautiful area of New Market, Virginia, offering a perfect blend of mountain serenity and accessibility to local attractions. Stay on-site and enjoy all the property has to offer or venture out into the region using Longview as your home base. We especially enjoyed the Nespresso machine, high-quality bedding and pillows, room-by-room temperature control, and a variety of ways to enjoy the outdoor space. WiFi and phone service were great despite the remote location. Tips: access is via a long, narrow gravel road, so drive carefully. Don’t forget bug repellent — we did and couldn’t find it sold anywhere in town. A few of the amenities (hot tub, fireplace) are not necessarily intuitive to operate, but the guest book contains detailed instructions and troubleshooting. ##### Rebecca L. The property is beautifully renovated and was fully stocked for our stay. Hosts were incredibly communicative about check-in/out, expectations, nearby spots to visit and were quick to reply to any questions/requests. Cabin felt secluded and cozy but also was a 10 min drive from town. At the end of the day, the incredible view sitting in the hot tub or making s'mores at the fire-pit is really the highlight.
