It was a good hotel, as long as you don't need to get around outside the hotel. The area is not really walkable.

Bad horrible and just say no!!
Omg it was horrible! The room stank so bad. We slept on top of the bedding with our own blanket because it was so gross. The man on the front desk was rude He took my credit card and swipe it and said it was for incidentals we were there for less then 5 hours and he charged my card $50 !!! We didn’t even take a shower because the bathroom was so nasty !!! Do not stay here !!!!!!

Dear Cindy,We apologize that you did not enjoy your stay. We are an older property but we keep it very clean and use fresh linen. We inspect each room after they ready to ensure quality of cleanliness. I am sorry but I don't agree with your review. The credit card was taken for the incidentals and it was for damage deposit and the funds go back on your card soon after check-out.

Very close to the Tweed Airport that we frequently fly in and out of, we have stayed here 4x and the staff is always helpful and friendly, property is quite old, but breakfast area with food and coffee is fantastic and well stocked, the heater and a/c in the room work great, little in room coffee makers work great, good price for a good location to train station and airport.

My first night had a pleasant start. The woman at check in, Lucille, was super nice and helped me figure out the dilemma I had with 2 separate bookings. She explained everything and explained all I would have to do is check out and then check back in (staying in the same room). This is where it quickly went downhill. The room was very comfortable BUT there were other people just going in and out of their rooms very noisily all night with letting their doors slam and such. The next morning, I got up early so I could check out and check back in like Lucille said. That morning though, I had a young man who was obviously very flustered because the breakfast nook was crowded and kept bugging him for every little thing and he appeared to be the only person working so he was doing the work of 2 or 3 people. He finally managed to get me checked out and checked back into the same room. I spent the morning listening, again, to everyone letting their doors slam every 5 minutes. When I got back to my room that night, it was more of the same. Luckily I DID manage to get some rest before heading home the next day. The woman at final checkout was VERY nice and told me how to get out from where I was parked. All in all a decent stay but the door slamming was disruptive and they need more help.

Room smelled of cigarettes. NO HOT WATER IN THE MORNING FOR A SHOWER. "Our boiler is broken." We requested, and staff said a taxi would be there to get us to the airport. It wasn't. "You need to use Lyft." At least they know Uber isn't allowed at HVN for some reason. We were lucky and got a Lyft ride from a driver that happened to get up early that day. The only reason that this place was chosen was proximity to HVN "Tweed" airport for an early flight. Next time we'll stay farther away.

We stayed in the older section and the room was very dated looking. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom had a toilet where the water kept running. Overall it was an ok stay for the price. The hotel was close to the airport which is what I was looking for when I booked.

Considering what all the other properties are charging in the area, this was an affordable option for a place to just literally sleep one night and keep moving along. Room was clean but worn and dated. Area has shopping options, therefore not secluded which made it feel a little safer, quiet at night no one hanging out on the property. Overall its a dated Motel, not for long term stay!

The desk person was super rude. I sent a message to hotels.com requesting two beds and he wasnt nice about it. He was giving me a bad attitude. At the end i only got one bed plus the room smell like cigarettes and it was horrible. I was very disappointed it.

Wish it had been better!
This place is sketchy as hell. I’d recommend asking to stay on the second floor on the opposite side of the building from the Dollar Store located next door, if you’re concerned about your safety. The side near the dollar store is not protected at all and people could just roam around outside your door. Room was old and rather dingy, but seemed clean at least. However, I would not stay here again unless I was packing heat or something.

An army of ants in the bathroom!!!
First, I don’t like being charged a $100 security deposit. I’m 70 years old on a fixed income. This is a deal breaker. Cleanliness- I woke to find the sink covered in ants. An infestation was covering my razor. Upon inspection I could see that the razor lubricant strip was almost entirely eaten by ants. Don’t stay here. It looks like the last makeover was in the ‘80’s.

Room was not up to par. Smelly, dirty and the immediate area felt unsafe. If you walk a couple blocks through the sketchy stuff, the East Haven downtown area is delightful. I would not stay here again.

I've stayed here a few times over the last 4 years. It seems to have dropped in quality. Less clean. Breakfast is less well supplied. First time getting a highway side room. Good thing my white noise maker blocked out the sound. :/

Absolutely hideous. The odor of cigarette smoke was so strong that I felt that I smoked two packs by morning. The carpet was sticky/grimy. The sheets felt unclean. The area was sketchy and we were concerned our car wouldn’t be in the parking lot in the morning. As an added bonus, our neighbors thoroughly enjoyed their room three different times during the evening/morning hours and rattled the mirror and pictures on the walls, which were so thin that we felt like we were part of the action. Within 5 minutes of checking in, I found alternate accommodations for our second night in town because there was no way we were staying a second night in this disaster. Let’s say there’s no Quality at this Quality Inn.

Mildew Motel
Front desk staff are very nice and helpful. The lobby is kept clean with the exception of the ceiling stains. Once you walk around back to the rooms,!things go south quickly. The rooms reek of mold and mildew. Horrible smell from the air conditioning. The bed sheets had cigarette burn holes and the carpet is disgusting. Towels had stains. There was an inch gap from the door to the door jam, leaving an opening to the outside. That doesn’t seem very secure. I would never stay here again. The location is great if you’re traveling through Tweed Airport, but other than that, stay somewhere else.

The location and proximity to the airport was convenient, but the room smelled like smoke and the bed was less than comfortable. My feet were definitely slanted higher than my head. It was not the cleanest place I have stayed. Front desk staff was friendly and check in was quick, though.
