Very convenient for my purpose, hospital. Modest but clean and comfortable.Missed little things like an extra pillow, a laundry bag and cups or glasses of some sort. Overall I would return again.

Clean and affordable, this is a great value option for bargain hunters. Could use a little more in the way of amenities, such as an iron & ironing board, drinking cups in the room, extra blanket, etc. But overall, excellent value and I would stay here again. (This was actually my second visit).

Tara Inn is better than it looks and check-in was hassle-free, though different from what was in the listing. The listing information said there was no front desk but there IS a front desk right through the double doors you see in the picture. The rooms themselves are located in two separate buildings, strip-style, alongside the main building. My room was clean and totally functional. I was advised at check-in that there was no coffee in the rooms due to COVID, but I could take a cup with me from the stack near the front desk. I should have, because there were no cups in the room. Despite COVID, other motels where I have stayed recently still had cups (wrapped in plastic) in the rooms, and this would have been nice, just to be able to draw a cup of water from the bathroom tap. Nonetheless, my stay was entirely enjoyable (other than the man in the room next door smoking outside on the walkway and the wind being just the right direction to blow it into my room). I have to return to New Glasgow in two weeks and have already booked Tara Inn for a second stay, so I think that says it all. Good value, too.

Awesome
The hotel desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. She even changed our room as she wasn't happy with the room we were assigned. The location is good with quick access to a large gro ery store, mall and even a movie theater

Great value! Close to amenities and major Hwy. Toilet was the lower toilet and bothers my back. This motel offers picnic benches, chairs and bbq for your pleasure. The highlight was seeing deer and their young walking through the grassland in back of motel.

While the staff were friendly and accommodating and the facilities were satisfactory, the wifi was not strong and the tv didn’t work. In the big scheme of things, these are not huge problems. But for the price I paid, I’d have been happier with slightly better conditions. In the end, I know I paid for the convenience of being close to the hospital so I could visit a member of the family as she prepared for and subsequently underwent surgery at Aberdeen. So all in all, I think “ok” is fair.

I've staying the upper buildings several time (Deluxe suite). This time, I did not pay for the upgrade (only $15) which was my own fault. The standard room is a bit more dated and bathroom needs upgrading but it was clean and quiet.

Horrible expierience!!
We found this place on hotels .com last night and i must say do not stay here.There is mold growing in shower and the first place i ever stayed that i couldnt get a shower.The tv didnt work and the remote was untouchable and so sticky it didnt feel like it was cleaned in years.Plus hotels.com charged and booked me for a deluxe room in which i apparantly got a standard.DO NOTSTAY HERE.

This place was perfect for our quick stay. The staff was friendly during check-in and the process was very seamless. The room was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the laminate flooring as I find carpet to be very unappealing.

We apologise for the inconvenience. During the day, our Housekeeping staff is very vigilant about any sort of debris in the common area. Since this is a classic drive-in style hotel, its possible some guest placed a garbage bag outside of the room later in th evening. Please accept our apologies

The Inn was quite comfortable, had a great sleep. The first room I checked in to had a leak around the toilet base so front desk staff upgraded my room at no extra charge. My only concern was the cleaner had a strong smell so I opened the windows but all the screens had holes in them so let bugs in. If screens were replaced it would be perfect!

The room smelled like smoke and the toilet was running when I arrived. It appears longer term resident smoke outside the window where the air conditioning was not sealed properly. Even the bed sheets smelled of smoke.

Very basic motel. Because of Covid breakfast wasn’t included. We paid for 4 nights and write to Expedia after the second night to cancel the 4 night but never heard back from you. Room was never entered by cleaning staff at motel to make bed or do anythincc go. Hotel was clean and bed comfortable.

I booked a room with a queen size bed. It was ready so they gave me another room. It was two doubles. Forgetting that i paid $10 more for a queen until after we left. There was no coffee maker in our room. That was a disappointment. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. The personal were lovely however. Very friendly. And there were many deer to watch grazing in the back field.

Check in time was confusing. Some information stated 5pm. When i called to confirm I was told it was 3pm but a paper taped on the inside door said 3pm scratched out and changed to 5pm. Had to call a phone number to have someone let me into the office to check in. Was given 1 key that didn't work on the first room then waited for the guy to come out and try it himself and then go get another key to a different room. Requested a room away from other guests which was great for an hour until they put an older couple beside us. There were other rooms available that could have been given. No paper cups. No ice. No information provided about a continental breakfast. Yes I am aware of Covid but paper cups or a coffee maker would have been nice. Overall it was a roof over our heads. Was rather disappointed after reading previous positive reviews.

Was charged @ of the room rate ($30) just to check in early! I've never been charged for early check-in. That factored in with the room rate means I'll switch back to the more upmarket hotel I usually stay in. The fee room rate makes it not a better deal than a fancier place. Very basic drive-up hotel. Drafty room due to window air conditioners. It was clean and a place to sleep.

The inn was close to places and a little walking trail was near. Had to switch rooms because there was hair all thru the sheets in both beds. Sucked that the breakfast they offer isnt happening cause covid. And a little pricey for what we got.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, for the safety of our guests and staff, we have instituted a series of changes to cope with this difficult situation. One of them is that housekeeping is not available until guests have checked out. Fresh towels and linens are available upon request at the front desk. We didn’t stay there The site said 11pm late check in... we got there at 10:50 and it was closed We had to find another hotel and I still got charged for the stay We ended up at the travellodge Instead And my account was still charged for the night, so I need a refund pls I had to borrow money to pay for the travel lodge because I was charged for the Tara inn Not happy at all

The booking was pre-paid directly through expedia, at no point did we receive a call or a reservation directly. So for a refund, you must call expedia. Next time, when arriving after closing time, we recommend calling our hotel ahead of time or calling the number that is clearly stated on the door in case of emergencies. The hotel closes at 11pm but there is staff on call 24 hours able to reach the front desk within 5 min. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
