Every Texas getaway should include amenities to escape the heat, and that's exactly what you'll get at Shepherd's Lodge! Pool, river, shady porches, mature oaks! This gorgeous, recently remodeled 2,300 square foot home comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests with 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Situated in the heart of the Wimberley Valley, Shepherd's Lodge is an ideal place for your family getaway. Shepherd's Lodge is a charming, rustic, and thoroughly Hill Country home. Perfect for a large group of family and/or friends, the open layout offers spacious indoor and outdoor living areas. The indoor living area provides ample seating, a fireplace, and a TV as well as deck access. The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, cooking and dining essentials, and plenty of space for multiple chefs. The dining table seats eight with additional seating at the kitchen bar. Upstairs you'll find the master suite which includes a king bed, TV and the attached master bathroom with a walk-in shower, double vanity, and spacious walk-in closet. Also located upstairs are the bunk room and the first queen bedroom. These adjoining rooms each have a separate vanity area and share the rest of the full bathroom. Rounding out the second level you find the laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer. Downstairs the fourth and fifth bedrooms house queen beds and share the downstairs common full bath. Outside you'll find over 400 sq ft of covered porches and a 500 sq ft shaded deck to enjoy all day long and into those glorious star-studded Hill Country Nights! Relax out on the deck or in the bar/grill pavilion after an afternoon spent playing at the house, down at the river, or about town. Take a dip in the pool, lounge on the tanning shelf, or relax in the the hot tub. Can't resist nature? Walk over to the low river crossing and enjoy a swim in the Blanco River! Be sure to have dinner on the porch under the oaks and string lights - iconic Texas Hill Country! Bringing the kids? Let 'em run wild! Here you'll find plenty of space, over two acres, for games of chase or catch and the three tree swings are always a hit with the kids. The upstairs bunk room is a perfect place for the kids to bring toys and play. Bring those floaties and water guns and let 'em swim all day and into the night! Only three miles to downtown Wimberley, Shepherd's Lodge is a wonderful, centrally-located launching pad to enjoy all the Wimberley Valley has to offer from playing, hiking, and swimming at Blue Hole Regional Park; shopping the historic Square and Wimberley Market Days; enjoying Hill Country cuisine and wines at local restaurants and vineyards; or browsing one of the fine local art galleries. The pool pump ran 24 hours which as a annoying in such a quiet setting. The fireplace worked, it was fun. The rooms are not as big as they seem on line, but the house was very nice. We ate outside once, very nice under the lights, especially if you BBQ. We saw deer, fox, cats, goats, turkeys, chickens, and more. We rented this home for the weekend to celebrate my son’s college graduation, and it was the perfect choice. The house was clean, comfortable, and peaceful — exactly what we were hoping for.The pool was a great bonus, especially for cooling off in the warm weather. The surrounding area is beautiful and relaxing, with the river nearby adding to the charm. One of the highlights was waking up each morning to see deer running across the property on their way to the river — such a peaceful and unique touch.Overall, this was a great place to stay for a special family weekend. Super close to Wimberley Square and H-E-B, which was nice. The house was clean and accommodated all our needs. It was a focus of the trip to walk down there with the littler kids in the mornings to do a little fishing with uncles and cousins. There is actually NO real access at all. I mean, you can go where they tell you and immediately get into the water - but it is all private property on either side of the bridge. When we tried to address this with them they told us that we should just fish off of the bridge - but there are signs saying that is not allowed. It is very clear from the signs and fences that no one is supposed to be there. The company is not taking any responsibility for this misrepresentation. Clearly they market it as having river access bc not only is it in the listing, but when we contacted them about where to go (bc we saw all the no trespassing signs and assumed we were just in the wrong place) they responded with maps and pictures saying that was the place that had access. I then got a message a day early saying we needed to be out by 10am. No one responded to my messages - so we left. Still haven’t heard from them about what is going on. Sure hope they give us our money back for that last night. Have a complaint with VRBOThe property is also pretty old and tired. I can see how it was once nice, but they aren’t cleaning it well or fixing things. Not worth the money. ##### Lisa T. Deciding to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday with our family at this beautiful home was a great decision. The spacious and functional home was second to the deck and pool/hot tub combo. The home facilitated fun and great memories for our family but also healing. Maybe that is why it is called the Shepherd House? ##### Ryan J. Ice maker hasn’t worked in sometime yet they took time to laminate the sign , just fix the issues, hot and cold water reversed, another easy fix, master fan doesn’t work, another easy fix, sinks clogged don’t drain while using them, house seems run down & we have stayed at many homes on Flite Acres, beautiful street and area! ##### Brooke S. The Pool and hot tub was amazing and very clean. We went zip lining one day and spent the last day in San Antonio. We had an time. Each person had their own bed and the bathrooms were plentiful. The hot tub was great and we really enjoyed hanging out in it. The deck is huge and we had a wine tasting around the large table outside. The Property Management company was quick to respond to our inquiries and the only thing we didn’t like was that we couldn’t check in early without incurring a fee. Otherwise, we would stay there again. ##### Karla C. The house was exactly as I expected it, and when we ran into trouble with running the dishwasher and lighting the fireplace, the property manager sent someone out right away to fix it. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and we were able to cook a couple meals together. The hot tub was amazing and easy to operate.
