We received a lovely welcome to the property and were shown all the little bits and pieces that made the room special and that were thoughtful additions to the general experience. The hosts are lovely and friendly, and the breakfasts are out of this world! Each day a new menu which included a lovely variation of omelets but included home made muesli, a variety of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, orange juice - the works. I absolutely loved my stay here and will sure sure return. Did I mention how lovely the hosts were?

We had a wonderful time staying at Shelbourne Villa. Val and Wayne were excellent hosts. Our large room was beautiful 10/10, the bed was comfortable, and although we were staying in a house we had total privacy. It was my first experience of a B&B and I would totally recommend this accommodation. Val and Wayne thank you so much.

A gorgeously serene accomodation
This is a beautiful B&B, and the best accommodation we stayed at during our trip in New Zealand. We stayed in the master suite which was absolutely spotless, aesthetically gorgeous, and complete with a spa tub. The hosts are delightful, the breakfast delicious. Everywhere you look in this lovely place you see art. It is an easy walk to downtown Nelson, and a peaceful, restful location. Just fabulous!

Just a couple of small things. They advertise robes and hair rings and there were neither in the room. There was no way of controlling the temperature from in our room. Otherwise it was a lovely handy place to stay. The breakfast was very good

The property was well situated, within walking distance of the the main areas in town. The loft room we had was excellent with a terrace offering roof top views of town. The hosts were lovely yet not imposing.

Excellent. Central location. Wonderful hosts.
This villa is a gem. It is located very close to the Cathedral Steps but the actual street is very quiet and the location is discreet. It was perfect as I was attending a course at the music school. The accommodation is lovely. Very clean, well presented and yet homely and very stylish. I loved the beautiful carpets; lovely patchwork quilt; own access to the unit; full bathroom etc Everything was presented beautifully. It proved to be a lovely place to live for 4 days. The breakfasts were very well presented and delicious. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend this as an excellent option. Even the shortbread biscuits were special.

Absolutely Outstanding
You can’t get any better than this!! The host of Shelbourne Villa, Wayne and Val are the most accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts. The Loft Room is HUGE and beautifully appointed, with many extras provided (including yummy ones). You have access to another private large, with a special late night beverage provided. The breakfast was like eating at a 5 Star restaurant, including the most gorgeous table setting. The views from the room and dining room are breathtaking. It is a 5 minute walk to the top of Trafalgar Street, where the best restaurants are situated. Don’t look past this accommodation if you are staying in Nelson, it is a must!!!

Wonderful B&B!
Loved our stay here. Hosts were friendly, B&B was homey and beautifully decorated and 2 blocks from town. Breakfast included toast, coffee, fresh squeezed juice, lots of fruit and a cooked item (we had scrambled eggs with salmon... yum!

Loved The Shelbourne Villa!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Shelbourne. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Our room on the top floor was incredibly spacious and beautifully furnished - we especially loved the patio with a view of the water. The neighborhood is so quiet but a 2 minute walk from lots of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious too. We would definitely highly recommend this property.

Average. This was not advertised as B&B. It should have been. Disappointed. Very noisy room from other guests from wooden flooring and thin walls and being right at the front door.
Sorry we weren't what you expected and that your neighbouring guests were a bit noisy during your stay. Unfortunately we don't have control over the description of Shelbourne Villa on the site you booked via, but note that all of the descriptive text is currently very clear that Shelbourne Villa is an adults only Bed & Breakfast. Travel well and all the best.

Excellent accommodation. Villa and room (Master Suite) were wonderful and the owners (Val & Wayne) were very nice and inviting. Breakfast (fruits, breads and omelette) was fantastic! We can't wait to visit again some day. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to or around Nelson.
