We recently renovated the home with all upgraded amenities, including a brand new hot tub, barrel sauna, fire table outside, and two-sided wood burning fireplace inside. The home is nestled in the tree tops, with oversized windows allowing natural light to fill the space, and has fantastic privacy. Vaulted two story ceilings make the home feel wide open and spacious. Plus, pet friendly! Managed by Chris at New School Hosting. (NOTE: video of property was taken before several recent updates, including a deck expansion with addition of hot tub, sauna, and fire table, plus bedroom upgrades) We are located in the heart of beautiful Wintergreen in Virginia, which has tons to do for all ages, year-round. Mountain Treehouse is just a few minutes’ drive to the slopes and all the dining and entertainment at Wintergreen. Some of the best hiking trails in the state are off the Blue Ridge Parkway (15 minutes from the home), plus there are other great trails just down the street. Also nearby are two sandy-beach-entrance lakes plus a community pool for swimming, and over dozen wineries, breweries, and distilleries- all within a 30 minute drive. Additionally, after a 5 min hike to the base of our property, there is a hiking trail along a creek. In the summer time, supervised kids can play in the creek while adults breathe in the peaceful nature. After heavy rains, you can even hear the rushing waters from the mountain stream at the base of the property. Along that trail is a moderate hike out to Shamokin Falls, Wintergreen's own waterfall! The house has 4 bedrooms plus loft bedroom, and 3 bathrooms, with the layout as follows: Main level: \- Main level deck features outdoor dining for 10, gas grill, rocking chairs, and bar seating \- Living room with wood burning fireplace (firewood provided), 65" smart TV, and arcade machine \- Newly renovated, oversized, and fully stocked kitchen with custom teak root stools surrounding island \- Dining area features custom live edge table with seating for 6, plus room for 8 more at the kitchen island (14 seats total) \- BR1: King bedroom with dedicated workspace \- Full bath with tile shower Lower level: \- Lower deck features new hot tub, barrel sauna, fire table (propane provided), and additional outdoor seating \- BR2: Master bedroom with king bed and deck access. \- Ensuite bathroom of BR2, fully renovated with double vanity, tiled shower, and soaker tub \- BR3: King bedroom \- BR4: Bunk room with 3 sets of twin-over-twin beds and built-in reading lights \- "Jack and Jill" full bath: Shared bathroom between BR3 and BR4 with tile shower \- Laundry room with full size washer and dryer Loft: \- The Loft area is set up as Bedroom 5, but note that it is open to the living room area so not completely private. This room features a queen bed, smart TV, foosball table, and various games Other things to note: \- Mountain Treehouse is pet friendly! We allow up to 4 pets with a $100 pet fee (total, not per pet or per night). Also, the deck is entirely enclosed, so unless your pup has a penchant for fence-jumping, they can be outdoors off-leash on the back deck while you enjoy the amenities! \- We provide our guests $1500 of coverage for accidental damage to the property or its contents. The cost of this is already embedded in the cleaning fee. \- Wintergreen offers hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, dining, spa, ropes course, golfing, and much more. \- The driveway is quite long, with a flat parking area near the house. That parking area can fit 3-4 vehicles without any being blocked in. Several more vehicles will fit but will block the others in. \- Wifi is fast with a strong signal throughout the house and decks. \- We provide a fully stocked coffee bar with multiple coffee drip and Keurig options \- Linens and towels provided \- Guests can enjoy free community pool access in the summer season (though the HOA rules stipulate no more than 6 guests at a time, and the permitted hours are 2-6pm). \- Pack n play and high chair provided \- Please note that if you would like to send packages to the property, you do so at your own risk. USPS is particularly unreliable. We can not be held responsible for late or undelivered packages. Additionally, we charge $25 for any return services requested, in additional to actual postage. \- We do require a separate rental agreement, which we will send a link to e-sign after you book. However , we/ the grandparent / tested positive for Covid last week and we’re not able to go. However, the 4 adults and 5 grands went and a great time being together and were able to do some hiking. There is plenty of room for guests to hang out together without having to split into different rooms. The only thing is there aren’t curtains in two of the bedrooms so if you aren’t used to the sunrise you will be by the end of your stay. Sleep masks were provided by the host. ##### Elyse M. I booked this stay to celebrate my partner’s birthday with all of his friends and I cannot express enough how amazing everything was! Liz and Chad were extremely detailed and communicative. They even had a binder with all the necessary information about the house and things in the area. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures from the listing don’t even grasp how beautiful it actually is. We all slept very comfortably and had plenty of space for each person to have a bed. They truly had everything you might have needed for a trip like this. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. I highly recommend this place for any large groups or families! ##### Tiffany N. Started with excellent, detailed communication from hosts. Home was amply stocked and contained everything we could possibly need and more. Loved the decor, comfort and layout of the home. Fireplace and comfy couch with snuggly blankets and plenty of firewood. Floor plan allowed all 8 of us to be together but house was also big enough to separate if we needed a quiet place to work, etc. Appreciated little touches such as tips about snakes and bears, and champagne left in the fridge for our reunion. It was also wonderful not to have to do too much clean up at the end-no stripping beds or doing laundry! We loved the location and convenience of this property, and all agreed we would stay again. Jun 30, 2024 Liked: Check-in, communication #### Our 2024 Virginia Family Vacation This is a wonderful property located inside the Wintergreen Resort. The kitchen is one of it’s best features and is well stocked, which was really appreciated. We did have to completely clean the deck furniture & grill before it was useable but enjoyed starting & ending each day in that peaceful outdoor space. Overall, we were pleased with this property and the owner was responsive to our questions. HOWEVER, I recommend getting VERY specific with your questions regarding the details of resort amenities available to VRBO guests because it may very well impact your vacation plans. I suggest calling the resort ahead of your booking to learn exactly what is available to guests renting through a VRBO vs. renting directly through the resort itself. Some things we experienced > Pools-VRBO guests only have access to 2 of 3 pools AND can only swim AFTER 2:00\. A big disappointment. > Lake Monacan-VRBO guests are charged $20 per person, regardless of age so be sure to have plenty of cash on beach day or you won’t get in. Also, paddle boats/boards, water trampoline & inflatable slide are all additional hourly charges. > Fitness Facilities-VRBO guests have NO ACCESS UNLESS you buy costly spa sessions. > Golf-VRBO guests can only play on 1 of 2 courses. Lastly, there were 9 of us with 3 cars and parking was a real challenge. More than 3 cars would have been a serious problem.
