The house features traditional board and batten siding, original stonework, hardwood floors throughout, and two fireplaces—an indoor gas fireplace and an outdoor wood-burning fireplace. The upstairs bedroom features a king bed, 60” flat-screen TV, DVD player, private bathroom with double sink, and tiled shower. The main floor bedroom features a queen bed, 60” flat-screen TV, DVD player, private bathroom with double sink, and tiled shower. The basement is finished with two bunk rooms, each containing two bunk beds (8 total beds), a bathroom with a tiled shower, and a movie room featuring a 70” flat-screen TV and DVD player. The basement also includes a 1/2 kitchen with a mini-refrigerator and washer/dryer for guests' use. All of our guests are supplied with a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, and trash bags. Just a short walk from the main house, the bunkhouse provides additional space with six more beds and a full bathroom, ensuring everyone in your group has plenty of room to relax and unwind. Whether you’re traveling with family, friends, or a group retreat, the combination of the main house and bunkhouse offers the perfect balance of comfort and privacy. Berry Hill Lake features a brand-new, state-of-the-art infinity pool and hot tub. The pool overlooks the lake and offers breathtaking views, with a stunning infinity edge that seamlessly blends into the landscape. The pool area is complemented by a large deck and pergola for shade, as well as luxury chaise lounge chairs on the other side. We are less than 30 minutes from the entrance to Wintergreen Resort, which offers skiing, snowboarding, a Zip Line, archery, summer tubing, mountain biking, and hiking, to name a few. A short drive away are many local breweries, wineries, and distilleries, including Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyard, Hill Top Berry Farm and Winery, Veritas Vineyards and Winery, Devils Backbone, Wild Wolf Brewery, Silverback Distillery, and Bold Rock Hard Cider. It is a private oasis, conveniently located just south of Charlottesville, close to multiple wineries and breweries. There are trails, a pond with paddleboats and kayaks. The pool and hot tub are perfect for watching the stars at night while making sweet family memories. The many beds are so comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need. We were in the pool every day, made s'mores every night, and did plenty of hiking. The lake was the perfect size to teach my daughters how to kayak. We also did lots of pedalboating. An unexpected surprise was watching an otter (the kids named it Ollie) play in the lake and on the docks whenever it got sunny! Also lots of deer, herons, geese, and other birds to watch, fortunately no bear sightings. The property and house were IMMACULATE. It was actually better than the pictures represented! The kitchen was organized and well stocked. There was nothing they did not think of including the welcoming gift of s’mores! Such a thoughtful touch. If there was one downside, and this is was our fault for not reading the description - the mod pool. It was smaller than anticipated but we managed to all fit! It's secluded and quiet, but still close enough to stores in case we needed to pick up supplies. The setting in the woods with its own private lake is just perfect. I can't say enough about the home itself. The attention to detail was much appreciated, from the bedding and linens to the bath products. The cabin is warm and cozy like a cabin but more like a new home with all the amenities you could possibly need. We used the hot tub daily which added to our relaxed mood at this lovely retreat. Yes, the pool is small and not for swimming laps but it was really nice to play around in and we enjoyed it so much. And oh my gosh, if you like smoked ribs and the typical BBQ meats and sides, try Paulie's Pig Out right up the road. Truly the best I've had. I fell in love when I saw the photos in the listing, but in person, it's all infinitely more beautiful. The home itself is stunning and far more spacious than I imagined. And the land is so well tended and cared for, a sense of peace just exudes from it and permeates every moment at Berry Hill Lake. Everything in the home was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged. The kitchen is abundantly stocked in terms of cooking needs (we had 12 friends gathered for the weekend and cooked every meal there). The trails were beautiful and peaceful. The hot tub/pool was cozy and sweet, and the lake! Oh, the lake was just perfect. Lying on the floating dock in the sunshine is a memory I'll hold on to for a long time. (And for those who are interested in fishing, my partner had a joyful time catching and releasing trout) :) The land itself is rich and vibrant--we had deer strolling by us every evening, giggled at the banjo frogs singing each day, and gazed at wildlife in the sky (hawks, bats). The stars were striking each night, and everyone was reluctant to leave once our weekend was up. Finally, the property manager, Reed, really went above and beyond--kind and thoughtful, he patiently answered a number of questions beforehand and was responsive throughout our trip. This was our third visit and it didn’t disappoint. The upgrades to the pool and surrounding area are well done and add the enjoyment of the property. It had everything we needed and wanted. The pool was gorgeous and perfect for the hot weather. Our fishing-obsessed teen spent lots of time at the pond. We hiked the trails and watched movies, and enjoyed the many fine eating and drinking establishments.
