Older hotel but comfortable with an amazing beach.

Enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Friendly staff and helpful. Best beach in negril, walk to all. Safe. Bring a beach towel. Hotel does not provide more than basic service. Restaurant on site not very good but many close by to walk to. Friendly basic bar for cold beer and soda.

Great place to stay in Negril

Posted 11-Mar-2016
Pros: Location on the beach, walking distance to food, markets, and entertainment, clean relaxing hot tub.
Cons: Add a microwave to the non-apartment roooms.
Location: Anything you want is within walking distance. i rarely needed a cab ride.
The staff was very accommodating to any requests made. The beach was beautiful, garden was impeccable, the hot tub was FANTASTIC. I will definitely stay again and again.

Disgruntled guest

Posted 1-Mar-2016 on Hotels
Reception staff very welcoming and polite. Large size room, very airy, however the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were lumpy, as a result I did not get a good nights sleep at all. Bathroom was very small and in need of some minor work, water went off in the middle of using the shower, so had to wait for water to come back. A square cut from an old bedspread was provided as a bath mat... hmmm, strange! Old TV, with a unless remote control. The only thing I liked about this hotel was that its conveniently located on the beach.

Photos were deceiving

We spent extra money to upgrade to a room with a kitchen. The kitchen was the size of a small closet. There was no counter and while there was a sink, there was no hot water to it. There was only a hot plate to cook on. The general condition of the hotel was run down. We will find another hotel for our next visit.

The hotel is old and in need of upgrades. The staff was wonderful, the room was immaculate! Thorough cleaning daily. Right on the beach. I would definitely stay again.

Negril, Jamaica is spectacular and beautiful, but it is third world. food sucks. whether u eat out or buy groceries. there is nothing to buy in the stores except for the predictable variety of souvenirs for tourists. I was not able to find a digital-camera or a decent book to buy and read. middle ages. the weather is great. the water is perfect. the view is great. and the price is right. Unfortunately, the scene is dull and disgusting. most tourists are elderly, fat, white and out-of-shape. American mid-westerners and Canadians. many of them go back to Negril, twice a year for the past 20-30 yrs. obviously people with zero curiosity. most of them smoke pot and drink booze from morning to night and do not bother to leave the beach / hotel area and see the country. do not expect to "enjoy the view" on the beach. you will not have to get in the water to do "whale-watching". The locals are usually cool and funny but many harass tourists for business. it goes beyond polite salesmanship. I did not feel threatened, though, or in danger at all anywhere during day or night.
