For a 5 star hotel we were quite disappointed. Staff was very friendly at check-in, and recommended sites to see, but once we checked into our room things went down hill. The single room villa on the lake was pretty average. The shower floor and walls were mouldy, and the bathroom floor grout was brown from dirt. Nothing had been cleaned properly for quite some time. The wooden floor hadn't seen polish for years. Spiderwebs on the ceiling and light fittings, and the occasional spider came to visit. The bed was old, indentations where people had slept, and way too soft. There was no top sheet, just a duna. This was replaced, only for it to disappear on our last night. Our first bottled beer at the bar was warm, and only 2 tap beers to choose from. We bought our own beer in Dunsborough. The car park was miles away and up a steep incline, so made going out for quick trips or dining a real pain. The restaurant was a disappointment, very small selection, and certainly over-rated. On our last night we booked to have a porter pick up our bags at 7.30am the next day only for them to forget. When we called reception they said they would be straight down, only to get a call back to say they were picking-up another couple first. A poor finish to our stay. On the good side, great access to a wonderful beach, and a fantastic swimming pool. We won't be back.
