Shawn was so communicative. Great response time. We utilized his driver service as well. Don was our driver and just added to our overall excellent experience. We highly recommend. The views were stunning and the beach was literally a 2 minute walk accross the street and a small reef accessible to snorkel. The private pool area was amazing. There was absolutely no furniture other than an bed, ottoman and a nightstand in the master bedroom, the bedroom linens were years old. The size of the shower in master bedroom was pathetically small. There was no beach, across the room from the house was a seawall, and on the other side, the ocean. You share the property with the VRBO host. He lives there; you do not have complete privacy. there were two chair's and a 2-person couch in living area, not mush furniture. The washer and dryer were rusting out. The host provided transportation at twice the cost of using Uber. the place is a rip off. You can do better and cheaper. I would never rent this place again; it is a dump. Not at all what it is advertised. We left after 2 days and forfeited the next 3\. It was that bad ##### Matthew H. Oceanspray was the perfect place for my daughter's bachelorette trip! Plenty of space for her bridesmaids, the view was amazing, and Shawn was a stellar host. He and his driver were professional, prompt, and very helpful. I highly recommend using Shawn's driver, especially if you are not familiar with Nassau. Wayne is a safe and courteous driver and was very knowledgable about the area. He was literally at our beck and call...even for a late night toilet paper run! Shawn was quick to respond to all our requests and messages too. The check-in/check-out process was a breeze. The house and the location were perfect! Our family stay at the ocean spray house was absolutely stunning. We relaxed by the pool playing with our kids after a long day of playing in the ocean and touring Nassau. The neighborhood was so safe with grocery stores, pharmacies, and food all near by. The fact that it was nestled in a beautiful beach away from large touristy crowds was the best but still just a quick drive to the downtown area was everything. Our host Shawn was amazing and attentive. If you need anything he is the go to. Fortunately we needed nothing as the house was equipped and safe. The inside was simple and clean. If you are traveling with small kids this place was awesome. Plenty of beds. We really enjoyed our stay. ##### Anastasia F. First, the listing stated the rental was the “entire home”. This is simply untrue - we had access to less than half the house while the property manager lived in the other half. Second, the listing says beach front and the pictures would seem to indicate the home sits on the beach….it does not. The home faces the beach but there is a fairly busy road between the house and the beach. We found this only to be a minor deviation from the listing but nonetheless a deviation. The home interior looked dated from the pictures but it’s worse in actuality - the bed in the master is horrible - there’s not much worse than the sound of rusty springs as you make any movement. The other beds looked similar. The Living Room furniture is uncomfortable and didn’t make for a cozy space for the group. The kitchen is barely stocked - 1 pot and 1 saucepan and there is nothing extra. The decor desperately needs a woman’s touch throughout the home. Now the good - Shawn is incredibly nice and was responsive to whatever we required. There are two grocery stores very nearby which is awesome. The beach is steps from the front door and is beautiful - probably the best in Nassau. The pool area is clean and well manicured. The area felt safe and there were lots of walkers/excercise enthusiasts out with the sunrise. in ##### Joseph N. We were looking for a house away from downtown and the nice pool & quiet beach across the street were both a hit with my family. Additional features worth mentioning include great views from the decks/porch, 3 bathrooms (including 1 on first floor), and decent snorkeling right in front of house. We also leveraged Shawn’s driver service. It was more expensive than a rental car, but it made for a convenient experience getting around the island. ##### Sean D. Private, low-key, and great for groups and young families. And if you're considering renting a car vs. hiring Shawn's car service (given the location, you'll want one or the other), we opted for the service and was one of the best decisions we made. We also used our hosts driver for the week. This was money well spent! Highly recommend this location and host. The only thing I would like to see is the kitchen being equipped with a few more items, as we prepared a lot of our food here and often bad to get a bit creative, this wouldn’t keep us from staying here again however. ##### Laura U. Snorkeling right outside in the shallow waters we saw stingrays, barracudas and all types of fish. Our family of 6, 4 young kids ages 10-5 loved every minute of Shawn's Home. The private pool was a huge bonus for windy days or to just bum around whenever we wanted. Shawn lined up our initial airport transfer and gave us numerous recommendations for car rental, restaurants, activities etc. He was very accommodating. Our favorites were the balconies for morning coffee, fully stocked kitchen with all utensils that we needed as we cooked every breakfast and many dinners in the home. Everything worked, everything was clean and we couldn't have been happier with our very first VRBO. Shawn we hope to see you again very soon. Bahamas, we miss you already. ##### chadd d. There were 9 of us and I'm not sure we have anything to actually complain about! The house was exactly as described, the primary bedroom (on second floor) was great with the most amazing views, nice ensuite and lots of space. 2nd bedroom on that floor was large as well, big bed, lots of storage,. Bathroom was just outside the bedroom door and a good size bathroom with tub/shower. 3rd floor is a large open room w/4 king size beds, perfect for all of our kids to have their own space, and balcony, Main floor kitchen/living/bathroom.. beautiful views..Kitchen had what we needed to enjoy the stay, and lots of seating in both. Beautiful pool well maintained, the beach across the road is a lot nicer than some people gave it credit for. It's basically private. More than enough towels provided to use at both! Shawn was the most amazing host, who perfectly walked the line of making you feel like he wasn't even there, but being there anytime we needed anything. He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, by the little things he did. Can't praise him enough! Also, hire the driver!!!!!!! Best decision we could've made!! Another wonderful human who will do everything he can to make you time enjoyable!! My personal suggestions, full length mirror in primary, more storage on the 3rd floor, and a mop. None of these were big issues so I never even told Shawn or I'm sure he would have fixed them while we were there! ##### Amanda W. Nice, safe neighborhood with friendly residents. Great sunrise mornings, sandy beach nearby, nice pool. Small kitchen with outdated appliances, only one frying pan and no baking pans. Furniture is outdated and shower in main bathroom is very small and in poor shape. Interior needs improvements. ##### Ron C. However when we arrived there was only half a villa! Because the landlord himself lives in the other half! It was an old house inside and just newly painted on the outside. It stinks of mildew without end in the small uncomfortable seating area at the very entrance. But he advertises for 12 people. There would never be room for the 12 guests in the small half of the house! There is a bedroom with a bathroom that needs renovation (water damage to the closet), rusted fittings. Everything is carelessly set up like in a bachelor pad. We also found more than 3 dead cockroaches and one live one in the kitchen, beds and sleeping area. The house is as is and in need of renovation and should not be rented out for the price! However, the hammer is the completely restricted (very sloping ceiling) on the 3rd floor (attic conversion), in which we found 4 double beds next to each other, like in a reception camp! And another double air mattress! No seating area, or closet and the harshness, two completely unfaired huge motors for the house air conditioner, which were loud and horrible to see in the attic. This is not a bedroom! The bed linen was also partially uncleaned and smelled of use. Everything like in an old house where a grandma is dying. The owner was always friendly. But that cant help! My husband and I just recently stayed at the Ocean Spray with our 5 adult children. We had a wonderful trip! Shawn is a great host. He was very quick to respond to any questions I had prior to our trip. He was also very accessible during our stay to help us out with a couple of things we needed. The pool is great. It is in a very private location. It is a good size and temperature and is 7 ft deep at one end so nice for adults to use. The home is right across the street from a small beach. This is not a great beach to sunbathe on. The location where the sand is exposed is quite rocky in the water. There are concrete steps down to the water where the parking lot is. If you enter the water at this spot, it is very sandy The water is shallow for quite a distance out and there is a semi-circle of rocks that offer protection from the waves. It was a great spot to cool off in the ocean. The view is amazing! This was my favorite part of the property. It is right on the ocean and there are decks on all three levels that have spectacular views. There is a pretty busy road that runs right in front of the property and this does take away some of the enjoyment of the view, but it is still absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend hiring Shawn's driver. Brenoid was such a pleasure to deal with. He was always prompt with pickup and had great suggestions for places to go. There are pros and cons with the location. The listing clearly states that this property is in a residential neighborhood, however, there really is nothing to do within walking distance. It was necessary to have the driver pick us up every time we wanted to go out and it took at least 15 minutes to get to any restaurant or activity. Just for a reference, one night three of my kids wanted to stay longer than the rest of us at a bar at the Atlantis and took a taxi back. It cost them $70\. While it is nice to be away from the hectic downtown area, we did get a little tired of needing transportation for absolutely everything. ##### Margaret C. This house was perfect for two couples and their kids. All the beds are king size which matters to us. The 5 girls were able to share the 3rd floor loft. That being said, you will be sharing a bathroom with whoever is on that 3rd floor. This is not a problem for our family. The pool is great place to unwind from a day out on the beach, excursion or sightseeing. Having the beach across the street was so convenient. We spent 3 of our days lazing in that beautiful inlet. We found so many beautiful shells and treasures. Such a relaxing experience. We hired Berniod for our driver for the week and it was a great decision! He is so kind, funny and laidback. Our car Karaoke will be a cherished memory from this trip. :-) His taste in music was on point and made our drives so much fun! Katy Perry will never be the same! ##### Jenny B. We took our 4 kids with us from Texas. It’s our 3rd time to the Bahamas and it was nice to stay outside the resorts. The property was as described. When we arrived, Shawn had it all Cleaned and smelling fresh. It’s an awesome location near the beach and a very clean private pool. My favorite things as a mom is as the washer and dryer and the kitchen was set up perfectly with the right tools to cook during our stay. The third level was perfect for my 4 kids as it had 4 queen beds set up in their own private space! They loved it. Lots of towels were available as well. Shawn also saved the day with coffee filters one morning as I forgot to pick those up from the market. The biggest plus was having his private driver Brenoid. He made the travel around the island easy and took us to the market to shop right as we came Into the island. My kids and I miss Brenoid already. He’s super patient and knows all the good places to visit. Can’t thank both these guys enough for making our stay in the Bahamas so fun and special. ##### Matthew T. The house is very spacious and has all the necessities required. Lovely clean home in a quiet residential area away from the bustle of the city across the road from the beach, with wonderful views of the sunrise from the balconies. Shawn is an excellent host. He made everything easy from a flexible checkin and out to even driving us to get groceries I highly recommend hiring Shawn’s driver, Brenoid. He was available whenever we needed him, always arriving promptly. He has a large (12 passenger van) that can accommodate your group and luggage. Even provided an infant car seat for our stay. His fee included airport pickup and drop off, gas, tolls, mileage etc. Overall our family had a wonderful vacation made special by Shawn’s assistance and recommendations. I would say best for about 10 people. Sean the owner was GREAT!! the driver is definitely a must. Great views of the sunrise from the balconies. Much better deal than hotels for sure.
