Hosts Our mother had Alzheimer's for 20+ years. We have a special place in our hearts for current and past caregivers of elderly or sick family members, as well as, cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families. Both of us have been pet parents for many years, mostly Maltese and Pomeranians. Currently, Scruffy and Roxy live with us along with their 3 yr. old crazy, cat brother. Siam looks like a Tuxedo, but he is half Siamese. He's a wrecking ball and a provacateur. They are all adored and life is never dull! Jaye is also a plant parent. She loves all things botanical so we hope that you will enjoy her houseplants and summer flowers as much as she does. Like all enthusiastic gardeners, she is also happy to share plant cuttings when they are available. In the Summer heat, Jaye, will need to make the watering rounds 2x/day if we have not had enough rain. Her goal is to be quick and invisible, but unobtrusive at the very least. Over the last 3 years, we have met so many wonderful people. Our aim is to make your stay as easy and as enjoyable as possible with an emphasis on comfort and attention to your unique needs. We put a premium on CLEAN. Many of our guests have taken note of our efforts and been particularly appreciative of our high standards. If by chance we miss a spot please feel free to point it out - if you don’t mind the interruption, we will take care of it ASAP. We've been known to allow our guests to stay as late as they'd like on check-out day, provided that we don't have guests booked to arrive that same day. Feel free to ask if that opportunity is available while you're here. Our guests have said that we are friendly and hospitable. We are readily available for needs that may arise, concerns, directions, dining recommendations and recreational ideas. If you are missing anything in the kitchen, please ask us. Sometimes kitchen items get misplaced. We just might have whatever you need right next door. You are never bothering us! We will be AS ACCESSIBLE or AS HANDS-OFF as you desire. For 15+ years, our extended family vacationed together in multiple summer homes where we were the guests. We will do everything we can to ensure that your time here is as we would want it ourselves. A Walk-Through the Property We are working on the interior and exterior and will continue to make improvements as we are able. Our emphasis has been on updating the interior and making the aesthetic improvements that we think will mean the most to our guests. The 1st floor interior has an abundance of natural light during the day. Plants thrive in this room! To give you an idea of the layout - walking in the front door you'll be in the living room where there is a comfortable leather couch and love seat and plenty of room to relax. Floor is carpeted. Just a few steps away is the main level 1/2 bath and laundry access. The kitchen is to the right with a dine-in table for up to six, stainless-steel appliances, and all the basics for home cooking. The bathroom and kitchen floors have a wood-grain LVF. A fairly steep flight of carpeted stairs connects the first and second floors. On the second floor are two good size bedrooms with a queen bed in each room. All linens are provided: "oversized" king duvets or coverlets, pillows and towels. "Blackout curtains" on all bedroom windows! There are two 4 ft. closets with organizers in the larger, front bedroom. There is one closet in the other bedroom Window A/C units are available during warmer weather. Each bedroom has a full length mirror Floors are carpeted. The main updated bath is centrally located. It has a beautifully tiled tub/shower. This home was very clean and comfortable. Jaye was also an outstanding host. She was available if needed and asked there was anything else we needed during our stay. Check in was at 4 and she was still cleaning at 630 so we felt like we lost that half day unpacking and settling in that we usually have. Maybe offering a full day on checkout would have made up for that. Her Housecleaner got sick and we certainly understand this can happen but none the less we lost half a day. Her home is impeccably clean. This home was for 4\. We had that plus a 5 mo old. We do a lot of cooking at home. Though she had the basics, we were looking for mixing bowls, pans for pizza, or baking. The a/c brought the temp in house to 72 with all three on 68\. Placing one of them in the bath/ laundry room which was away from living and kitchen may have been the problem. I’d recommend one in the main living area. The furniture in this home was very comfortable and that was important to us. Couches, beds were wonderful!This host works really hard and we appreciated it ##### Michelle B. We arrived well after the check-in time to find the host still in the process of cleaning, and the smell of bleach was overpowering. Very comfortable. The hosts were helpful, accommodating and welcoming. The exterior (which was not shown on the listing) unfortunately needed to be cleaned up. The access path was nearly blocked by an overgrown bush and a pile of old mulch was at the front of our parking space. There was really no area for appealing outdoor seating. Although the neighborhood was neat and quiet, this exterior of this property was not as well maintained as its neighbors. The hosts were so nice, it is difficult to say anything negative, but guests need to know what the outside looks like. ##### Pamela G.
